Onepocket
Is the Sevigny magwell (Glock) legal in USPSA production. I would like just the people that make the decisions at bigger matches to answer. USPSA headquarters never answered the question. Thanks.
fishsticks
When you say HQ do you mean DNROI? Because that's where the answer lies. My 2 cents is it would be legal as it's the same as the plastic plugs. Only thing to watch would be weight.
Gary Stevens
Magwells are not allowed in Production. A plug is legal as long as it does not extend below the grip forming a pseudo-magwell. You can also do some lateral work as described in the rulebook. fishsticks
Here is what the OP is referring to. It isn't a magwell in the traditional sense. More a permanent plug. http://southpawcustom.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=2:sevigny-speedway&catid=2:services&Itemid=
Onepocket
An internal modification.
Gary Stevens
I don't have my rulebook handy ( shock shock) but if I remember correctly internal modifications are limited to lateral not front and rear. Read the book and see if it fits within the rules. Ok had to look. It says longitudinal may be 1/4 inch more. Only DNROI can give you a specific legal answer. mwc
I have use it in several level 2 matches as well as the 2013 Production Nats without any problems. Sent from my NS-P16AT10 using Tapatalk
George Jones
I would not use those experiences as evidence of legality. Gary's advice to check with DNROI is sound. If already asked but no response, I suggest you try again since I know he was out of touch for over two weeks recently due to minimal internet access. mwc
This was hashed out years ago. There should be a few threads on it. Back then it was ruled as an internal mod and therefore legal. It's a shame that the rulings made about these kinds of things haven't been written down somewhere for future reference. Onepocket
I have spoke to several different people that run larger matches everyone has different opinion. A grey area.
mwc
I hear you. Truth be told...the mod actually isn't worth it in my opinion. My reload times are faster with plug installed. The plug gives me something to index the magazine on. Sent from my SGH-M919 using Tapatalk

mwc
Interesting...they certainly have plenty of room to do so. Is the Gen 5 really happening? Sent from my SGH-M919 using Tapatalk

E-mails, text, phone calls etc. can be advice, but not rulings.
Kraj
The way it is cut on the front strap is an external mod. As long as it doesn't change what it looks like with a mag inserted I would say your legal
