Brett....I tested some BB 147 round nose and flat nose 9 mm Saturday in my 2011

147 BB 3.5 grns Vih N320 1.150 COL round nose

Averages:

943

935

934

3.5 grns N320 147 BB 1.140 COL flat nose

Averages:

941

929

936

3.4 grns N320 1.14 COL  round nose

Averages :

922

910

923

I've been running 147 Montana Gold with 3.7 grns N320 at 1.15 to ensure 900 + for power factor.....I'm really impressed with these BB stats....more tests this weekend........hope these make some sense!!!!

Here is what I got with N320 @ 3.5gns. 147 GN BB FP OAL - 1.140  9mm

Springfield XDM 5.25 - Avg (10 Shots) = 958.07 AVG FPS

Sig P226 Tac Ops 4.90" threaded barrel (10 Shots) = 947.58 AVG FPS

Glock 26 3.2" barrel (10 Shots) = 896.05 AVG FPS

Tangfolio Stock III - 4.5" barrel (10 Shots) = 962.8 AVG FPS

Walther PPQ M1 4.0" barrel (10 Shots) = 912.4 AVG FPS

Walther PPQ M2 5 inch barrel (10 Shots) = 946.71 AVG FPS

Beretta PX 4 Storm Full Size 4 inch barrel (10 Shots) = 914.08 AVG FPS

Mech Tech Carbine 16 inch barrel (10 Shots) = 1055.5 AVG FPS

I would describe the accuracy of this load as adequate for IDPA or USPSA at the distances we typically shoot.  Soft recoiling and flawless function in all guns.

I am going to try the round nose bullets next time around as I have heard that they are inherently more accurate.  We shall see.  Hope this helps

My experience with the above powders has shown that Clays is the softest shooting powder of the lot.

It gets really sketchy on pressures with bullets lighter than about 135gr in 9mm, though. You're already around max book to make PF in a 147.

Clays is accurate, soft, and meters well. As long as you plan to shoot heavy bullets.

What kinda load did you find to work for you with not universal clays? And at what OAL? I'm currently trying to find a decent clays load for my 147gr BBI flat points.

"NOT universal" clays... nicely put!

We're talking about plain old clays. Not International, not Universal. Just clays.

I was using 130Gr BBIs.

130gr BBI coated bullet

1.105" OAL

3.35gr Clays

128.8 PF through a 5" M&P

If I find some more clays I'll be using it again for sure. Not too smoky, didn't leave the gun filthy, and definitely one of the softest-shooting loads out there.
