Magictalent
It will pass the test. Will see how it shoot tomorrow.
Magictalent
Okay, ammo test last night. @.384 headspace at case mouth. Increased extractor tension may have also help. Not one hole, but good enough for my IPSC game. No issue of ejecting expanded cases. 5 failure to chamber. Reason maybe as follow. Case mouth size a little too big, will reduce to .382. Powder is not at full power, 9.1 gr 3N38 now, will increase to 9.4 gr. Extractor tension maybe to much. Will reduce after new ammo tested.

Magictalent
Okay, first level I match with the SPS. My overall % increased 20% even with 6 FTF and 3 times forgot to turn the dot on. Extractor tension need to reduces. Will also crimp it down a little more (0.380). I am enjoying a little Open fun now.

Many people shoot 9mm in their Super guns. You can't do this without a barrel change, the 9mm case head spaces off the length of the chamber, 9mm does not shoot in a 38 Super autoloader. Steve RA
Gee, wonder why I could do so way back in the early 90s. Load to the same COL as the super round and it will work.
uziforme
Since it can not possibly head space correctly, either the extractor was holding the case head to the breech face so the primer could hit it, or the 9mm bullet was seated so long that it was head spacing off the bullet touching the rifling, either way is not proper. Just because you were doing it, does not mean you were doing it correctly.
Steve RA
If it works, it's correct. If you will go to the trouble to check, you'll find that many chambers are not exactly to SAAMI specs and cases will sink too far - or not far enough - when the mouth of the case touches the shoulder in the chamber. Also, if you check 100 cases for length you'll find few that match and fewer that are SAMMI specified length.
