ChuckS
Does anyone have any luck with Winchester small or rifle primers ? I have been using WSP for the last 12 years or so without any issues. I have extended firing pins in the guns.
jrswanson1
Speaking of Federal SPPs, who has them in stock? The only place local to me that has them is Gander Mountain, and they want $3.99 per 100. For $0.01 more per hundred, I can get Federal Match SPPs locally.
ano
winchester SP federals are for tuned revolvers, not major loads.
norbs007
Winchester is all I use, tried almost all of them but WSR is my primary choice.
OPENB
DON'T get S&B SR primers. Hard as stone. Powder Valley has everything in stock except Fed. SP. I just ordered 10k Fed. SP Magnum. Edited May 2, 2016 by OPENB

Maximis228
Used about 75K CCI 500 the last 3 years or so for my 9 major guns. Love them.
Bamboo
Tula KVB-556M if you can find any. PV hasn't had any in awhile. I read that Tula and Wolf will no longer be imported into the USA. Last ones I saw were Wolf SPM primers at 16 bucks/1k on clearance at Wideners last August. Considering what is available today, for a hammer fired open gun I'd be looking for CCI 500 SPP, or Winchester SPP, SPM,or SRP.
a matt
Any small rifle will work. Wolf, CCI, Winchester, Tula, S&B anyone that your firing pin will ste off.
Ultimo-Hombre
I have had bad luck with winchesters. Lots of duds. Perhaps it was a locally contaminated batch as some of my buddies had issues also. Tried S&B the SP ones worked fine. To be honest in a 2011 with an extended pin and a 19 lb main, anything runs. To the OP, what kind of gun you run might get you some better Intel. dansedgli
I bought 5000 remington small rifle and they suck. 1 in approx 50 wont fire. Tiny little dents in the primer compared to cci and federal.
