Grip Tape

So I shot my first competition of 2016 last week and during one of the stages, my hand slipped drawing out of the holster. COMPLETELY ruined my pace and timing. So I wanna know...

Grip tape options! I want to try this first before stippling because yeah, no coming back from that. If it helps, I have an M&P and am thinking about these.. http://www.shootersconnectionstore.com/Dawson-Grip-Tape-for-SW-MP-Set-of-3-P2324.aspx?ItemId=4107393&Options=5070

Thoughts?

I've never used that specific solution, but I've been using skateboard tape and I really like it.

If it doesn't need to be pretty I got mine from e-bay for a whole $2 for a piece 10"x 40 or 48" for $2. Shipping was $4.

I was thinking about that too. I was at a local gun store the other day and picked up a pistol on consignment that had some grip tape. He couldn't tell me what tape but I liked the texture and it didn't eat into my soft girly hands. :roflol:

I like Black Magic skateboard tape as far as quality for the price, but those pre-cut options are much easier.

Yeah. I am weighing time vs. money & effort.

I also just checked their FB page and wasn't thrilled about the comments left on there so yeah, back to square one.

You could always go with Talon for another pre-cut option. I'd stay away from the cheap ebay ones, because I haven't had great luck with the fit.

Thanks for the options. I was thinking of these since I was getting some other stuff from ShootersConnection anyway..

If you haven't already, make sure you get your Shooters Connection account setup for the BEnos discount. I don't think the grip tape is discounted, but the other stuff might be.

I know the guy that runs this place. I wouldn't rule him out because of a couple dudes on the web from a year ago. If James was a flake, I am pretty sure the Brownells would not of taken him on as a supplier.

I've been using Dawson grip tape on my Glock 34 and all of my mags for years now and it's great stuff. Dawson has great customer service and there are all sorts of colors to choose from because, as we all know, looking cool is half the battle in action shooting. :)

+ 1000 on Talon Grips. Beautifully cut and follows the most complex contours perfectly. They make them in a nice grippy pebbled rubber (which I like) or the more hardcore abrasive finish (like sandpaper. Skateboard tape). Can't beat 'em.

That's a fair point Chuck. I sent him an email yesterday about the color of the purple grip tape and has gotten back to me already. I'll give it a shot!

3m safety walk has the best texture and most importantly best adhesive of the ones I've tried. It's desiged for outdoor use so holds up to moisture etc. they make a few colours and more importantly different textures too.

I would just do the talon option first. you can then decide if you like it in each position and then use it as your template for stippling

Or you may just like the Talon as is. We just put Talon grips on my wife's PPQ, and it works well. Looks good too. We used the more aggressive sandpaper like material.
