How often are you guys cleaning comps?

Mine had not been cleaned well for two years. There was enough buildup in the bottom to probably affect the performance of the comp. I plan to do it once a year in mid winter from now on

Any reason why I shouldnt soak mine in Hoppes overnight, then get the toothbrush out?

I don't like soaking mine because of the loctite. If I didn't use it I would soak mine for sure

Thanks for replying. That makes sense. I dont have to loctite because its a czechmate and the guiderod "locks" the comp in place.

Have you found a way to remove the carbon build up on the crown of the barrel on your czechmate?

Bronze brush. Don't buy a "shooting" one, Bunnings have them for <$2
