Sarge
How often are you guys cleaning comps?Mine had not been cleaned well for two years. There was enough buildup in the bottom to probably affect the performance of the comp. I plan to do it once a year in mid winter from now on

Sarge
Any reason why I shouldnt soak mine in Hoppes overnight, then get the toothbrush out?I don't like soaking mine because of the loctite. If I didn't use it I would soak mine for sure

shooterclay
I shot about 100 rounds of coated "Hi-Tek" bullets in mine and it built up quickly, hard as a rock. I now only shoot Montana Gold jacketed bullets. It took a lot of the buildup out. clay
bmiller
Was it lead or just carbon?
shooterclay
I'm guessing carbon, it was hard as a rock. No way could it be scaped out. I tried a stainless steel dental pick, it didn't even scratch it.
