For my Q5 I used 124g blue bullets and they have to be loaded SHORT. Something like 1.095 if I recall. All the MG JHP's I have loaded for my glocks (1.135") don't fit.

My Q5 is complete stock gun (except the front sight). I have 2 of them and both shoots 124gr coated bullet (Leatherhead) at 1.135 no problem.

I don't think mines are short chambered comparing to Tanfos or CZs.

My tanfo max length was 1.08 OAL with Xtreme 124 HP.

Q5 runs at 1.2 OAL all day long

Where would you get work done on Walthers? Do they have a specialist smith, like say Springer for XDMs?

Also, what would be the best 140mm base pads for CO?

You are the gunsmith. Lol..... I don't know of anybody offering services.

I had the Taran base pads for mine. They are pretty awesome. Comes with high power springs.

I use the Taran Tactical, though the Springer Precision ones work well too. I'm using some modified Grams 140mm magazine springs/followers that were designed for the Sig, the followers had to be lightly dremeled to stop the follower catching on the slide stop. With this setup I can get 22 (23 if I lock the slide back to load).

Thanks for the info. I tried to rent one at the range today but they didn't have one. Went to the LGS and fondled one though. Darn the grip is ergonomic. It's the first gun I've ever been able to release the mag without breaking my grip. Trigger was nice enough (I'm not a trigger snob), and it points great. Now I have to decide whether it's worth waiting on the X5.

Are you still using prima v powder? If so what is your load data. I started using prima v and was getting a 2" group at 20yrds with the first batch then I bought 20lbs but it has a different batch number and now I can't get anything better than a 8" group

I am still using the 1st batch at 3.8gr (135pf)

I bet the grouping should be improved with the new batch when you load them to 135pf. I don't know how many grains of powder for the new batch to reach 135 pf but it's going to be more than 3.8gr.

I've been experimenting with the Prima V lately and have found the same thing....if you load it a tad hotter, 133-136ish pf range the groups tighten up without any appreciable increase in felt recoil.

What height and width front sight did you replace your factory sight with? I'm finding the factory front sight too wide and the fiber optic too big.

Interesting; Yet another gun manufacturer jumps on the Production Optics bandwagon.... So now we have S&W, Glock, Sig Sauer, FNS, Walther... I wonder if Springfield Armory will come out with a model too?

The Springfield Armory competition model 5.25 can be used.  Dawson makes basepads and with grams spring and followers you get 23 round capacity.  Remove the rear adjustable sight and install an optic.  I am using the burris.

SA also has their OSP pistol now.  Removable plate for optics.

...For $1,800 ?

I mean hell, it has custom cerakoating, man!

Interested in why you prefer the Q5. Kind of addicted to fiddling with CZ's and now Tanfo's, so buying one that worked already would be a huge disappointment :)

Maybe I'll become that guy and sit down at a table with both and lecture YouTube on the thinking behind it.

Short version is that my Tanfo proved that the gun doesn't matter.

Hand someone a Glock, M&P, AccuShadow2, or Walther, give them a month of hard dryfire... and they'll shoot the same match score as long as the gun groups well.

I carry plastic guns. I'm used to plastic triggers which roll backward between the wall and the break. I'm gonna go back to competing with one, and the ergos on the Walther are even better than my Tanfo - it feels amazing to my hands. It's also the most left-friendly gun I've ever touched. Both the mag catch and slide release are ridiculously huge and easy to operate without moving my grip.
