ano
What happens when you put 9mm brass in 38Super roll sizer? Reason for asking, right now my 9 major prep head is a dillon 38 super die, followed by a 9 die that only sizez aprox 4mm for extra tension on neck, it gets the base down to around 9.82mm and works nice
Sarge
Isn't 9mm larger at the base? Seems it would get undersized severely out of spec
ano
well thats the question, yes its slightly larger, but not much, depends on spec of plates as well, getting a set of custom plates could be an option as well. anyone got acess to 38 super and 9 plates and wanna measure base of brass (not rim) ? Caspian
It is no problem to put 9mm brass in my 38 super roller size plate. I do that with all my 9mm match ammo. But this is in my plates. My 38 super comp plates is tighter so I do not use them to roll 9mm. Base of 9mm brass in 9mm plates: 9,85mm (0,388") Base of 9mm brass in 38 S plates: 9,75mm (0,384") Base of 9mm brass in 38SC plates: 9,70mm (0,382")
ano
Thanks caspian! I orderd the rollsizer som time ago, but still hasn't arrived do you also use 38super dies to size the rest? I found that I can get almost enough bullet hold, but not quite just useing 38 super dies, Ive orderd misc brands to try and get enough neck tension right now I size the first 4mm of neck with a 9 sizer.
