e-mishka
I want to put a bit lighter then factory 17lb spring in my g17, mostly because its difficult for my wife to rack the slide. What do you guys recommend in terms of stainless/tungsten, captured/uncaptured guide rods? And 13 or 15# recoil spring? This is not a uspsa gun btw, mostly hd and maybe occasional idpa
Maximis228
Id run a 13 lb captured. Either stainless or tungsten. Wont make that big of a difference.
9x45
You can run it down to 11lbs, but that is not the real issue. Racking the slide is a technique. Grab it overhead with the left hand pointed toward your right hand pushing back while pushing forward with the right hand. Master grip (trigger finger) out, of course. Foxj66
13lb or 15lb ISMI (buy both and see what feels the best) with a stainless guide rod. if gen 4 get a Jager rod. Also make sure the wife is holding the slide and pushing the grip it will make it easier for her.
BiggenF15
I use a tungsten guide rod with a captured 13# spring. Very flat shooting and no failures whatsoever with factory ammo. I mostly shoot light stuff for 3 gun.
