It feels colder, but it's too subjective.. a wind chill of 10, can feel much colder that a true temp of -10 (clear/sunny/calm/no humidity).. but i don't worry about pipes with wind chill of 10, but i hate to shovel snow in it

we get cold temps here, not like Fairbanks AK or Havre MT, but -30 occasionally.. reported wind chills of -40 to -50 are possible - but what does that really mean?

It means you'd better not stand outside in it for long without mega-protective clothing.

But it's different.. it doesn't need to be as heavy, just wind resistant. wind chill only affects bare skin wicking away the warm air next to the skin or evaporation

>>

Wind-chill or windchill, (popularly wind chill factor) is the perceived decrease in air temperature felt by the body on exposed skin due to the flow of air

The west coast seems to be the mellow place to be. It's been 52-to-60 degrees here for essentially two weeks. Spring seemed to formally arrive yesterday; you can feel that kind of thing when it happens. Moreover, things are blooming and popping up out of the ground everywhere. We're crossing our fingers out here. It's been very, very warm for February.

Got up to high 70's today.
