Red Dot & WST 9mm data with 147gr RN Blue Bullets

I purchased a 3000 round case of the new round nose 147gr Blue Bullets. I was very happy to put some nice groups on paper with them last week and I'm equally happy now that I put some over the chornograph. Not only are the comfortably within power factor through my Glock 34, they also have a decent buffer through the Glock 26.

Also of note with the blue bullets, they were pretty consistently weighing in at 149 grains, so I used that to calculate the power factors. All loads were with those bullets, at 1.125" OAL with CCI small pistol primers.

The loads...

I did two strings of this load over the chorno since I figured it was going to be my new "load up as many as I can" load. One was the first string fired out of the gun today, and the second string was the last. They were also on two different chronographs since one of them is a piece of junk.

Glock 34:

String 1

Max: 933
Min: 902
Range: 31
Ave: 916
Std Dev: 10.00
Max Power Factor: 138.9
Avg Power Factor: 136.5
Min Power Factor: 134.4
String 2 (gun was a little heated up at this point)
Max: 949
Min: 922
Range: 27
Ave: 935
Std Dev: 10.73
Max Power Factor: 141.4
Avg Power Factor: 139.3
Min Power Factor: 137.4
Also wanted to try them out of a shorter barrel, in case I need to use a backup gun at a match, be it a 17, 19, or 26.
Glock 26:
(didn't put it on paper for groups yet)
String 1:

Max: 897
Min: 856
Range: 41
Ave: 879
Std Dev: 13.62
Max Power Factor: 133.7
Avg Power Factor: 131.0
Min Power Factor: 127.5
String 2:
Max: 903
Min: 880
Range: 23
Ave: 889
Std Dev: 8.66

Max Power Factor: 134.5
Avg Power Factor: 132.5

*this chrono data from a previous date*
147gr Xtreme plated
1.125"OAL
3.6gr WST
Max: 963
Min: 914
Range: 49
Ave: 929
Std Dev: 14.32
Max Power Factor: 141.6
Avg Power Factor: 136.5
Min Power Factor: 134.4
Conclusions... I really like the Red Dot for 9mm. I think I'll reserve the rest of my WST for my .45 loads.

Great information! Thanks for sharing it. I tried some red dot with blue bullet 125g and liked it quite a bit so I've loaded the rest of that box with them. I just got in another 1200 rounds and will most likely load those with e3 for the Ben Stoeger class I'm taking in November.

What was your load for the 125gr?

I'm just about finished with 8lbs of red dot under 124gr bayou flat points. They're my practice load and have that very distinct smell when you shoot them.

How does red dot meter for you? I found it fairly inconsistent so I relegated to practice loads only.

Varies 0.1gr through my LnL, but takes a while to fully settle/pack, even with a baffle.

Single digit SD under 155gr cast, very good ES, quite accurate from two G17s, tried 2.4, 2.6, and 2.8.

Seems cleaner and more accurate with this bullet than my old standby Bullseye, better case fill adds some comfort, will be getting more.

Haven't tried it with 147s.
