RayFromHouston
I started shoot NRA XTC matchs back in 1981 with a H&K 91.... I did ok with it, but I picked up a 'recever sight' at a local Houston gun show and had a mount made for it.... My scores greatly inproved... them i got a bone stock "Texas" M1A and sent it to Clint Fowler for a beding job, barrle install and Blue Print the action.... Did great with it... But then i ordered a 40X from the custom shop and that's when I really started doing well (for me) @ the local matches... then I fell in love and got out of 'rifle' shooting... Took up IDPA shooting in the early 90's and never looked back.... But, my 2 bad knees are holding me back... so... I started looking to do somethong laying DOWN... that's when I saw the F Class guns.... WELL... I'm was hooked... found a SWEET deal on GB and had it shipped to Houston.... .308 Palma gun.... The open "sights" will be for sale soon and I already have a T-36 scope to install............ F Class.... here I come............. Kyle3451
Should be lots of fun. What kind of rear sight did it come with?
MarkCO
Exactly why I chose shooting over motorsports racing 17 years ago...knew there would always be some shooting sport i could always be competitive at. Congrats! PS, hope you are still "in love" too.
RayFromHouston
Should be lots of fun. What kind of rear sight did it come with? It seems to be a 1/8th or 1/4 min, Paramount from England with a adjustable eye piece..... rear base will also go with sight, I don't know the height of it as it's still in the recever.... I would like to sell both sights as a set............ And YES... still in love, but not with the 1980's model...........
RANGER3BN
Welcome back. There is something incredibly satisfying about hitting a .5 moa target at 1000 yards.
redial
The front is a 22mm Tompkins. Why not shoot from a sling, instead of "belly benchrest" ? Or NRA Mid-Range, LR or Palma? Welcome back! Mark
RayFromHouston
The front is a 22mm Tompkins. Why not shoot from a sling, instead of "belly benchrest" ? Or NRA Mid-Range, LR or Palma? Welcome back! Mark I have to start getting back into it somewhere.... I got my Mod. 70 XTC (.308, 22" Br.) rifle out of the BiL safe the other night and am thinking about setting it up as a mid range gun to shoot @ 300 and 600..... that way I can shoot cheeper 175's MK's out of the shorter barrle and not have to take a scope from 300 to 1000 yards.... Got my new shooting mat on Monday... ammo from SouthWest Ammo will be here on Friday and the Gen 2 Bipod that I bought from a seller HERE will be here today or tommorrow.....
