a different 38 SC or LC question ?

No, the heaviest bullet I use for SC is 124 grain, but usually 121 gr. The best OAL for my SVI IMM gun is 1.235 - 1.240 OAL with a .378 - .379 crimp. While I'm at it, the powder is 3N38 at 10.4 gr. producing 170 PF.

Hope that helps.

What kind of OAL's are you folks using for the shorter brass ?

Any length's seem to work better than others with the 160/170 bullets ?

Thanks

I load long colt at 1.41. I am less concerned about speed going in than taking advantage of the shorter case on ejection. Less pressure worries also.

I am going to guess he is referring to 38 Short Colt and 38 Long Colt.

Yup, what he said.

I forgot you can view all new threads and folks might not see this is about a revolver load

using short colt or long colt brass.

Thanks for the info Underlug, surprised I haven't seen more folks posting,

must be a secret for that winning edge ;)

Will long colt work as well as short colt using 160 bayou's in a S&W 627? I will take any info. on this. Aol,powder, etc. Thanks

Yes it should, you just have to have a longer OAL and maybe a little more powder depending what your using now.
