Jaxshooter
Does anybody have a good 40 S&W load using N-350 with a 180 gr Montanna Gold or 170 gr Bayou bullet?
lcs
N310 and a 200 FMJ is sweet in 40. TGO used it for years. Just like anything else, too much of a good thing can be hazardous to your health. Load long and start at 3.8 grains. Chrono is a must.

bret
Do NOT use N310 for .40 Major. It is too fast and is not safe. I have a lot of experience with it in the past and gave it up for N320. Brandon at SVI Recommended N310 and 180 Grain Montana Gold JHP for .40 S&W Limited, said it groups better than Clays, 1.5" or less at 50 Yards. I'm changing from Bayou 180gn .40s&w bullets to Blue 200gn bullets... Currently using N320... Does a 1.185" OAL sound long enough for 200gn bullets with N310? You can double charge easily. Double charging is really the only potential problem.

Successful plunk test and the 200's seem to shoot well in my gun... Waiting until my N310 powder arrives to switch over...
perttime
I've only used 310 for 45 ACP and 38 Special. Worked great. Just pay attention when loading: you really REALLY don't want a double charge.
EdwardBlake
Timely thread for me. Just picked up 4# of 310 today. It was recommended to me for use with 200 grain in 40. But they never suggested a specific recipe. For those of you who have succeeded with 310 in 40 with 180-200 projectiles, what were the ranges for powder weight under coated and jackets bullets? Aric
I use both n310 and n320. 180gr jhp, 1.185. 4.5gr n310 or 5.0 n320. I think they feel about the same. N310 is easier to get. They both burn clean and are very accurate.
