Even moreso than for other brands... perhaps it's because these guns are still Unicorns to some extent. We only have each other to rely on to help set the gun up as best as possible. Unless I'm missing something, there isn't one centralized location on the forum to find all of the most important posts easily and quickly.So here goes... OK, I'm having some issues getting my idea accomplished and I figured this forum would be a good place to try to get some info and or help. I have a Witness Match in 10mm. I would LIKE to install a compensator (2/dual port preferably) on it but it is becoming a difficult process. I know I'll need a longer barrel (6") and a longer guide rod, both will need to be cut down and the barrel will be threaded. The current guide rod spring should be usable. I've contacted EAA and Tanfoglio and neither one has a "kit" that will fit so that's out. I could buy a standard upper and and comp kit but that gets spendy and defeats my purpose of buying a Match. Does anyone have any ideas or helpful info. I know it won't be cheap but it shouldn't cost an arm and a leg plus my first born. I have found one used comp on a different forum but the person doesn't respond to emails. One last question, is a .40 comp the same as a 10mm? I know the diameter is the same but does the longer cartridge make a difference? Thanks to anyone who can help

I'm very interested in buying a Tanfoglio Witness Hunter in 10mm. The only thing holding me back is i specifically want DA/SA not SAO. I understand the actions work essentially with the same parts, so I wonder could i add the interruptor to give it double action, or would it require more modifcations? I'm not even certain the hunter model has the same parts as the standard witness, but it seems probable. If i can put a witness interruptor in it that would be outstanding! If this isn't possible, or is highly impractical please let me know. If it is possible, please give me some details! I've never owned or handled one of these so i don't know their inner workings.

This is all "pretend" but I need you guys to answer solid, truthful, and what you thoughts are. ****Admin create Yes/No pole if possible**** and room to explain reasons. MANUFACTURERS, AND COMPANY'S DO NOT COMMENT!!! ( Let's say (pretend) I've got a whole bunch of threaded bull barrels just spun up match grade...the beesknees. But then I blow your face away by also saying more universal and I also have a pile of NOT GT comps. Both sizes and items fit, limited, S2, and Gold team. Let's "pretend" I'm not going to release this stuff or even begun designing únill I've got a bunch of input. Also don't get too excited yet. This is purely hypothetical. What if you could buy a GT, ditch the v12 and factory barrel and drop parts readily available, simpler than 2011, as fast, soft ect and at almost 1/2 the price of a Domina or aNY Custom? Who would be like F*** yeah!!! And actually buy a Tanfo open gun. If a pretend package was available? Like I'm gonna just say GT 2k and open package 600. So let's just pretend about 3k you have a shorty or middy that's simpler than a 2011, same stroke length, and all the same damn benefits. In? Or Out. Even if you don't shoot or plan on open let's hear some weigh ins. Pretend I won the lottery. But let's not get over zealous or make assumptions. I sincerely am baffled. If the parts are there, for a BETTER, SIMPLER, platform wouldn't people build, or is the 2011 thing a followers fad and it's just had more market so everyone is worried about taking a chance and just plays follower? Background:I want to get into competition shooting with USPSA and IDPA (both are local for me). I am a little overwhelmed by the gun categories nuances--especially IDPA. Currently, I have a S/A XDS in 9mm (my carry gun) and an EAA/Tanfoglio Witness Full Size in 10mm. I absolutely LOVE shooting my Witness, but I think competition shooting in 10mm would get really expensive, really quickly.Question:Can anyone tell me if the Witness P Match and P Match Pro are legal for USPSA or IDPA, and in which categories? I think they are really sexy and would love to give one a try. However, I do not see either on the USPSA production gun list, and it appears from the specs on EAA's site that they would BARELY fit into the IDPA box. It seems that the Tanfo Stock II Elite's in 9mm are out of stock everywhere in the US. I've heard from one major gunsmith that EAA hasn't imported any since May of this year. Does anyone know what's going on? Did Tanfoglio pause production of this model? Anyone have any insight into if/when they might be available again??

I have a 38 super Witness Gold Team - I'm looking for a 9mm hybrid barrel to make it a 9mm open gun. It does not appear that EAA carries these... does anyone know a source for a 9mm open barrel (even just the comp is fine... the hybrid seems a bit 'over' compensated) for the Witness Gold Team? Thanks!

Gents; here is a quick guide if you receive your Tanfo with a Gen 2 trigger bar, and you've ordered a bolo/titan/1-piece sear. You'll only need to remove .020", so go slow and measure often. It doesn't take much using a rotary and diamond bit.

I figured I would ask the tribe on this one..... Does anyone know where I can find a 2016 Tanfoglio Limited Pro in either 9mm - 38 Super - .40 (no 45 ACP please) As I understand it, the 2016 frame beaver tail was shaved down slightly from the factory to fit the IDPA box. I prefer a NEW one. But would consider a almost new. Prefer it to be stock with no mod's. I do not mind a .40 because I can load .40 minor for it. I figured that someone in the group might know a shop where one is sitting. Thanks for any help.

How are you all doing?! I am approaching my 21st birthday so I will finally get to buy my first handgun. While my dad has handguns so I'm not new to the handgun world of shooting, I am looking for something special as my first pistol. I am in CA so we do have a roster, basically all guns except for glock gen 3's are illegal here. That being said, I have a friend that is offering to sell me his Springfield Model P9 LSP (long slide ported) for my birthday. I am trying to find as much information as I can but Google is lacking of much information. I could only find that they are Tanfo OEM parts assembled in the US by Springfield (I don't even know if this is correct). I was also told that they used to be used heavily as Open guns if they were chambered in 9x21 to make major power factor. This one my buddy is selling is chambered in 9x19. Anyone here own one and/or have more information surrounding this pistol? Where can I get extra parts? Barrels? Sights? I kinda want to shoot this in production but it is ported.... So I have been looking moving into a Stock II from the world of Glocks. I have read a bunch of posts on here about people buying two of them. One serving as a back-up for matches, it is also used as the dry fire gun. Do the Stock II's go down that frequently that I should worry about buying two of them? I am not a gunsmith and some of the disassembly and reassembly video's have scared the crap out of me. Can some of you that have covered to the dark side please advise? Thanks, Matt

Hey there, EAA imports the Witness Limited Extreme and I've been looking at getting one however I was wondering if any of you owners out there can get back to me before EAA actually does on this question. On the Tanfoglio IT website it lists the .40cal model as being a capacity of 18 rounds and the US EAA Site lists it as 14. do we get short-changed on the importation or do you think the website is wrong because the pics on the website sure look like they are "The Same" mags??? On a side note, I have a Bladetech OWB holster for a Stock III and was wondering if you guys think it would fit the limited as well... as a Lefty I had to wait a while for Bladetech to whip one up for me :-) Thanks guys!!!

HELP! I am shopping for an open gun for next season and I had my heart set on a 9mm Czechmate for a long time. I currently run a CZ Tactical Sport (that I've done a lot of work to) and I absolutely love it. Runs like a sewing machine, and every time I see people fussing with their 2011's I think "You know what will fix that? A CZ." I've heard good things about Tanfoglio's and asked for some prices on their open guns from my local shop. I have a lot of base knowledge about the CZ 75 platform, and understand the Tanfoglio's are kind of an "upper class" CZ... but I had no idea that Tanfoglio had a base open gun with 3 mags and a big stick that you can find for about $1600-$2000. The Witness Gold Custom. I do a ton of research on things, and everything I've read on here seems to point to it being great... in 38 super. I'd like to go 9mm. However, most of the posts here that talk about the gun needing work in 9mm is very old, like 5+ years. Has ANYONE out there bought a Witness Gold Custom in 9mm in the last year or two, and does it run?! I don't need the arguments of why 38 super is better, I get it. I just need someone with direct experience with this gun in 9mm to share their personal experience. Thanks in advance for the help!! -Scott -
Topic says it all. I'm looking at the Hiviz FO front sight for a CZ-75 (http://www.hivizsights.com/product/cz2005/) and wondering if it would fit a Witness Match. Any ideas out there? Not looking for guarantees but for best guesses. My old eyes aren't that great any more and I need as much help focusing on that front sight as I can get. This looks like it might be pretty bright. I can't find any similar posts on this topic so I'm starting this one. Thanks.

Uninstalled .22 conversion kit on large frame steel 9mm Elite Match. Install and uninstalling smaller spring was easy - getting the old spring back in has been frustrating. Any suggestions for procedure to follow? Part is 18.3 Witness Slide Stop Pin Spring

Hey all, I know I need an STI Edge, but it will never ever happen in the foreseeable future. It would be an irresponsible purchase for a family man with my income. So, I need the next best thing. I have about 650 to spend. I've been shooting a hi-cap copy of the beretta 96, and I'm selling it this weekend to buy something that has an aftermarket parts availability. I wouldn't sell it if I could get mag extensions and a magwell on it. Here's my options as far as I can tell: Tanfoglio Witness Match Glock 35 M&P Pro 5" maybe an XDM 5.25" if I can find a deal I'm leaning heavily towards the Witness Match. It seems like the weight will help a lot with follow up shots. I like that the G35 comes with 3 mags and there are tons of cheap aftermarket parts but I have never shot a glock and I'm not sure we'll 'bond'. I like the M&P price and the fact that it comes with a FO front sight. I like the barrel length on the XDM but honestly I think it's an ugly gun- almost as ugly as a Glock. I know that shouldn't matter, but well, you know... And in Colorado I'll have trouble acquiring the 16 round mags. I really want to make a good decision here and I'm hoping you all can give me some points that maybe I haven't thought of.

Is there anyone who can fabricate/make/turn a 1/4" longer guide spring rod for a reasonable price? My existing guide spring rod is the hourglass style and is 4-1/8" long for a Match 10mm. I need the extra 1/4" to stick out the "outgoing" end of the pistol to accommodate the addition of a compensator. Please send contact info, price and timeframe. -
Does anyone happen to have a Template (makeshift or exact) for witness hole placement in an STI 9/38 140mm mag?
