I learned the basics of marksmanship from the Army and went to a couple USPSA matches in 2016. I took a five year break from competitive shooting due to work and getting heavily involved with Jiu Jitsu. I'm still in the Army and train jiu jitsu... However, I caught the shooting bug last month and I've been competing almost every weekend, reading Ben Stoeger's book series (along with signing up for his 30-31OCT class), watched Keith Garcia's 3 gun DVD, waiting on Jerry Miculek’s 3 gun DVD, bought a Mantis X 10 etc. I plan on hopefully competing in the 2021 ALL ARMY MATCH –US ARMY SMALL ARMS CHAMPIONSHIPS 14-20 March I'll include my gear list and pictures below.. I recently bought a Sig P320 X5. I love the look and feel but I'm worried with some of the barrel/slide fit issues I've seen that have been causing accuracy issues. I've messaged a few people on this forum to get their thoughts on it. I am now very tempted to get a match barrel fitted from The Sig Armorer (along with his trigger). Here are the results of my zero range. I'm looking to buy a new toy for the range. Since I'm working EVERY weekend for the foreseeable future I most likely will NEVER use this gun for competition, so I'm not concerned whatsoever about which one is legal for which division class blah, blah, blah. I am simply wanting a superb shooting pistol for plinking steel at my gun club. I have narrowed it down to a few I'm very interested in, but I have never had the opportunity to shoot any of them. I did own an STI Staccato-P, and I really liked it...but when I found out they were releasing a 5" version I sold it to fund a precision rifle build. I had planned to replace it later on with the Staccato-P5, but that model went tits-up before it was ever released. So here are the pistols in which I'm interested. All would be 9mm caliber CZ-75 TSO STI Staccato XL Walther PPQ Q5 SF Standard (dont like the magwell on the Pro) Arex Rex Alpha Sig P210 Target Or... Wait for the Dan Wesson DWX to be released. Just curious which one YOU would choose, or if there's a model you would avoid, and why (i.e. cost-vs-law of diminishing returns, factory support, aftermarket parts availability, etc, etc) . Any input greatly appreciated. Thanks

Hey guys! I just wanted to get your opinion on this new Sig Sauer Romeo5 XDR Compact Red Sight 2 I found on Bereli. Its on sale for 149.99 and figured I couldn't pass it up. But I'm not so sure about it and would love a second (and third and forth...) opinion. Is it worth it? is it a good price? Good quality? Are there better options out there? Please let me know. I'm new to 3 gun / multigun but I'm not new to shooting. I'm prior service Army but I'm not special forces. Very ordinary forces in fact. I am used to Mil/L.E. firearms so these 3lb triggers are going to scare me to death. I am looking forward to learning and evolving my kit. I have a glock 34 with a few mods, a sig m400, and have yet to make a shotgun purchase but am leaning toward the benelli m2. I want to mod the shotgun for easier loading and am willing to buy the three gun ready benelli, but am wondering if it might be better to use a local pro and add mods as I learn what I like. I'd like your opinion on a 24 v.s. 26in barrel for the shotgun. I am curious about belts, holsters, mag pouches and shell caddies. So I'd also like your opinion on that gear. I'll dive in to my first match as soon as I find one close by. In N. Texas it looks like they have one at the first weekend of the month. Heard good things about this forum.

Hey everyone! First, let me say I wasn't sure exactly where the right place to put this topic is, so to the moderators if this is in the wrong section of the forum please move it wherever it should be. Now, the reason I'm posting this thread is to discuss an idea that I've had for a while now. For years I've loved the idea of a race gun - lightweight, fast, powerful, accurate. Tuned machines that combine form and function to produce masterpieces of engineering and art. In addition, for nearly as long I've had a passion for AR-type and similar platforms, but in particular I really honestly am enthralled with the relatively recent trend of manufacturers releasing pistol versions of their well-known rifles and carbines. I recently acquired a new Sig Sauer P516 AR pistol, chambered in 5.56 with 7.5" barrel, and it has quickly and without question established itself as my current favorite gun. The reason I'm explaining all of this is because I only recently had a laughably strange thought, that has snowballed into a serious curiosity... Would it be possible to build an Open division race gun out of a pistol-caliber carbine-based pistol? I have one specific in mind - The new Sig MPX-P, a new proprietary platform developed by Sig, modular in design and available in a pistol variant. Here are some of the most important specs of the platform, if you're interested in reading about it more thoroughly please head over to Sig's product page (I would post a link but can't yet); - Chambered in 9mm, .40S&W or .357SIG - 8 inch barrel - 10, 20, and 30 round mags available - Side-folding stock with AR buffer tube and pistol stabilizing brace is removable (and would be removed for my purposes) Now, a quick disclaimer before I get laughed off the forum - I'm not insane. I am in NO WAY expecting a giant six or seven pound rifle-pistol to be competitive with and stand a chance of beating a highly-tuned, featherweight 2011. If winning was my goal, I'd be thinking about an STI or similar, a traditional more compact handgun. All I want to accomplish with this build would be to simply have some fun, do something differently than everyone else, and end up with a unique, enjoyable oddball of a pistol for my collection. As for more specifically which competitions set of Open Division regulations I wanted to frame my build within, another long-time favorite came to mind - Action Pistol/The Bianchi Cup. Much to my delight, after reading through the official rulebook for AP, I found there are nearly no limitations set on Open Division pistols. In fact the gist of my understanding of regulations for AP Open is "If it's safe, and it shoots at least a 9mm or bigger, you're good to go.". Not only that but I've always loved the brute, raw functionality of the open division guns - with raw blocks of metal on either side of the barrel shroud as barricade wings, tubular red dots, compensators, grip tape plastered all over the gun. That's the style in which I would like to modify an MPX. So, with everything I've just said, I'd like to hear from the experienced AP Open division shooters about this idea. When commenting, PLEASE keep in mind that I am NOT thinking I can slap a red dot and a couple wings on the the rails of this massive "pistol" and have even the slimmest chance at beating a race gun that's been designed, engineered and manufactured from the ground up, three times over, to win an Open Division title in AP. All I really need to know is if I've missed anything that would specifically bar the use of such a pistol-caliber carbine-pistol as the MPX-P? Everything I was able to get my hands on regarding the rules of the various divisions in AP/Bianchi would seem to imply that in the Open Division, truly anything that's safe is allowed to run. Is that a correct understanding? Lastly, before anyone says it, I know I'd have significant problems with finding a workable holster for the platform, just set aside that concern for now. Please post comments, thoughts, questions, etc. - Constructive criticism is always welcome, as long as it is constructive. Thank you all in advance!

Hi, I'm a new handgun owner from Seattle. Once upon a time I hunted semi-regularly and have long since ignored my firearms. Then all of a sudden the news media went crazy and guns guns guns was all they could talk about. I started thinking about my little arsenal of family weapons and decided to start shooting once again. I purchased a Sig Sauer P250 in .45 ACP and am getting used to that. I have an assortment of long guns including shotguns and hunting rifles. I have some vintage guns fromt the Civil War era but I don't imagine I'll be shooting those. I'm waiting for Brian to ship me a Dillon RL 550B and a metric sh@t-ton of accessories to make all of this more affordable. Cheers, ~Doug
