Hey Ya'll! I have 500 jacketed truncated cone 147gr bullets from long ago that unfortunately have a high shoulder but are thankfully short overall. They are .600 in overall length. While the "new to me" Shadow 2 is happy to eat most coated 147gr TC lead when loaded to 1.155 OAL (bullet oal = .675) , I'm having trouble setting these jacketed bullets up with an OAL that will plunk because of the high shoulder bullet profile. To ensure I'm not about to make an over pressured or compressed load, I wanted to get some input. After fussing with different OAL (starting at 1.125 and trying to plunk), I finally decided to seat a bullet in a spent primer case with no crimp, put it in a mag and chamber it - letting the barrel suggest an OAL . The dummy round got pushed back as expected but the OAL came down to 1.040 !! Definitely shorter than any minimum OAL I've seen in a manual. I've searched and read and this seems like the correct math; 0.750 (case length) + (bullet length) - ( OAL) = seating depth. So I have .750 (case length) + .600 (bullet length) = 1.350 then subtracting OAL of 1.040 gives me .310 of seating depth. That's a hair over the .300 seating depth that the CZ loading gurus give as the tolerance. So next I'm wondering about pressure. 3.8gr of AutoComp in a 9mm case takes .340 of case space, measured with my calipers. So it seems that with the seating depth of .310 plus powder volume of .340, I'm right close to not having much open space left in the case depending on how thick the case base is. As for that powder charge; 3.8gr is what was under the 147 TC coated lead. Jacketed usually needs more powder but 4.0 is max. And since these will be used for practice ammo, if they are a bit weak on PF, it doesn't matter to me. I just don't want to make over-pressured bombs. So let's hear the advice, please and thank you!

Hello everyone, I'm a bit clueless, I load ammo together with 2 of my buddies. We all use a CZ shadow 2 and the same loads (load data below). However, one of us has had some major reliability issues. Sometimes the rounds seem to not chamber properly, other times it's not an issue. But last week when unloading the gun he pulled the bullet out of the case. This has happend twice now. When i take a look the bullet has a little divit that looks like it got rammed into the rifling. Is there anything i can do or should he just get his barrel reamed? The crimp is set right and he has to really pull his slide back hard. I'm loading very short already because the ogive of the bullets is quite weird. So loading shorter isn't really a possibility. Load date: Ares 124gr coated bullets 1,05-1,06 oal 3.7gr lovex d032 Thanks in advance!

Looking to have my shadow 2 machined for an optic (either a dpp or rmr) and see there quite a few “methods” of getting the dot to mount to the slide. I’ve narrowed it down to: Primary Machine Cajun Gunworks Fire for Effect Ive seen a few methods in which there are clearly exposed threads from the mounting screws. Does anyone have experience with any of the above shops?

Hi there, I have a CZ TSO, but the question applies to all CZ's/handguns: any recommendations here to what spare parts I should have in house to not have to wait a few weeks on an order when something breaks? And what spare parts are smart to bring to a match if you don't have a backup handgun? So something like: Spare parts you should keep in stock at house (recoil spring, extractor, fire pin, ... etc.) Spare parts you should bring to a match for quick repairs (??...) I need help identifying the firing pin spring in the image below on the far LEFT... it came in an extra slide I ordered from CGW. I let them know I needed the extended firing pin, and that I was using their "Shadow 2 Upgrade Kit w/ Reach Reduction and 8.5# Hammer Spring" (which is the firing pin/spring in the MIDDLE while the stock firing pin/spring is on the RIGHT). Basically just wondering if anyone knows what spring this is and if anyone else is running it. Also, I'm a little more curious than patient because I probably could email CGW, but where would the fun in that be?

Hi goodfellas, Few hours ago I installed short reset disconnector on my CZ Shadow 2. In DA mode hammer travels to aproxim. point of half cocked position and falls. In SA mode reset is short and crisp (like it should be). Since that I have match in 2 days ... please help. TiA P.S. Sorry for not using search engine ..... currently in panic mode

I recently obtained my Shadow 2 Optic Ready. I had already purchased 2 Vortex Venom RDS months ago in anticipation for taking possession of the Shadow 2 OR as well as the P10F OR when it’s available in Canada. When I received the Shadow, I went about removing the rear sight plate, not a problem; installing the CZ Vortex Venom adapter plate to the Shadow, not a problem; installing the Vortex Venom to the adapter plate; big problem. The included hardware sunk into the foam, meant to secure the red dot to the adapter plate, did not fit the adapter plate. Try as I might, the bolts would not grab hold. Eventually I pulled out the calipers and started measuring and discovered that the bolts were about 1mm larger than the contact points of the adapter plate and in the right light, I noticed the wear on the ends of the bolts where they were wearing themselves on the surface of the adapter plate. As I had already been playing with the RDS, the box and contents it had contained were thoroughly rummaged in. I decided to open the brand new Venom box to see if the bolts included in there were a different size and that’s when I noticed the baggie labeled GLOCK MOS containing two additional bolts. These fit. So what I had done was stash that baggie under the foam in the original box because I don’t own Glock products (never will) so I figured the baggie with the bolts was of no use, glad I didn’t toss it though. Anyways, I’ve gotten a number of people watching my video on the Shadow 2 optic ready on Youtube, asking me about mounting the Vortex Venom as they are running into the same problem. Not all Vortex Venoms, be it 6MOA or 3MOA are shipping with that GLOCK MOS package of bolts, and you NEED those. I had contacted my retailer of the optic plate and they suggested the problem is with the Venom. The problem is not with the Venom. I think CZ didn’t tap the holes big enough to use the mounting hardware that Vortex provides with all their Vortex Venoms, that being the larger bolts stuck in the foam. If you’re running into problems, you may need to contact Vortex for the smaller bolts. I was at the point where I was going to either tap a larger opening into the adapter plate or reduce the size of the bolts in the foam, fortunately I didn’t have a tap/die set that would work for this and spent the time hunting for what was missing in the install. Shadow 2, 46.5oz on CZ-USA website. Carry optic rule, 45oz weight limit. With CZC slide cut(with rear sight removed), polymer guide rod, lighter grips, can we make shadow2 under 45oz?

Hey folks, Is anyone aware of a grip for CZs/Shadow 2 that would mimic the very aggressive feel of the PT Evo grips for 2011s? Handled a friend's 2011 build at a match today and it was exactly what I was working for with those grips - super aggressive. I'm currently running Lok 's S2 Bogies with the texture covering the entirety of the grip (custom order). They are decent, but I would prefer something more aggressive. The CZC lemon graters are pretty solid, although a bit thicker than I'd like. Appreciate the suggestions. Thanks.

I recently installed Lok grips on my Shadow 2, ended up going with the Thin Bogies (shorts) to make room for the Magwell that I plan to add. Armory Craft has been sold out of theirs for a long time now and the ones on the CZ Custom site look they require swapping out springs and other parts to work with certain mag extensions and baseplates. Has anyone else made this mod or can confirm a +4 mag extension like the Taran Tacs or similar will work without any other modifications? I'm aware that I need to sand the bottoms of the grips for a proper fit, just wondering what else I should be considering.

Just picked up an Urban Grey Shadow 2. Thinking about swapping out the factory black grips for either LOK or VZ grips. Never been much for color coordination, but since this is my first non-black gun, any suggestions on what color grips may look good or enhance the urban grey shadow 2 with out looking foolish? Don't want to be "that guy" at the range...
