After shooting 500 rounds trough my brand new Trojan 9mm tonight was training time. I never hit all A's at 25 meters speed shooting (1 shot, 2 seconds) but now I did... unbelievable what a gun. Gun had Dawson tool less guide rod, mag release, Xtreme kit (hammer, sear, disco), G10 grips, Dawson magwell and some polishing. Best trigger ever. I am in love. Going to shoot Classic IPSC with it here in the Netherlands, Regards, Henk

I want to start shooting USPSA-inspired rimfire 2-gun (rifle/pistol) and I was thinking about buying a Remington 597. I prefer this firearm over the venerable Ruger 10/22 (which I already own) because the stock fits me a great deal better, because I appreciate the 20" barrel, I prefer the stock iron sights (which I would use), the balance of the 597 over the 10/22 and the 597 is considerably less expensive so it can be "used" without concern. But will the 597 feed reliably enough to be competitive? I know the 597's mags were a real issue from day 1 -- they are no match for the Ruger's rotary mags. But I have been reading on-line that newer mags (10 rounders), aftermarket mags from Keep Shooting and newer versions of the 597 are as reliable as the 10/22. Can anyone here shed some insight or any other 597 insights? Thanks much.

I'm looking to update my self defense gun - looking for your recommendations for a 9mm SA/DA, mid size (not full size or pocket pistol) gun that comes with night sights, has a safety and the ability to add a laser sight. Prefer steel gun to plastic, but currently open to either. Have you found anything like that on the market for a reasonable price, with a decent trigger pull as it comes from the factory? I've been looking at the various mfgrs' websites, and can't find anything that looks good yet. Gun needs to be reliable and fairly accurate (not target grade). Thanks for your recommendations. Jack
