  1. Looking forward to learning more from this community as I've constantly landed in this forum navigating through issues with my firearms. When I couldn't get an FN SLP to run light loads it was the members here that offered the advice to have the piston sealed by Sure Cycle and it's been 100% ever since. I've had several other minor issues solved here too and owe alot back for the insight. I've been shooting ever since I can remember (thanks Dad), but became serious over the last 4 years or so. I'm really interested in 3 gun and this will be the first year that I'll participate with the goal to run matches safely without any DQ's. I have confidence this is the place to be for reliable information, nice to meet you all.-Doug
  2. The 2017 USPSA Illinois Sectional match location and dates have been identified. Thanks to the Board and members of CIPSC in Havana Illinois for allowing us to use their range. The match will be scheduled the weekend of August 12th and 13th of 2017 (with staff shooting on the 11th). "Official" announcement is in the works. This is just an unofficial heads up so you can mark your calendars. Keep an eye on the Facebook page for additional details that will be coming:https://www.facebook.com/groups/304097216385094/Thanks! Ryan Clouse - Match Director Kyle Smith - Assistant Match Director Eric Griggs - Range Master
  3. NISA is holding a special classifier match on Sunday, March 26 at Schultz Gun Club, which is just north of the Illinois border in Muskego, WI. http://www.nisa-uspsa.com/ https://practiscore.com/nisa-march-2017/register
  4. The Schultz/NISA Steel match is back this year at Schultz Rod & Gun Club in Muskego, Wisconsin (90 minutes from Chicago... if you speed). MAY 30, 31 - 10:00 am to 3:00 pm 8 stages, approx. 180 rounds Divisions: Open, Limited, Production, Rimfire Open, Rimfire Iron Sights (rimfire does not use a holster; start from low ready) $40 single division, either day: $60 two divisions, both days. Juniors $30/$45. Cash prizes. Preregistration is now available at Practiscore. Note that if you are registering for two divisions, i.e. both days, you need to do a separate registration for each day. https://clubs.practiscore.com/schultz-nisa-steel-match/register We have a hot dog vendor lined up for Sunday. Nobody yet for Saturday but we're working on it. We'll be using adapted Steel Challenge-style stages, rules, and scoring. Prize money will be won using a modified Lewis system such that the winners of each division will receive top prize, shooters closest to 75%, 50% and 25% will also receive awards so everyone has a decent chance to win something.
  5. After getting off the ground last autumn with our first Revolver-specific USPSA match at Oak Park Sportsmens Club in Plainfield, IL (southwest of Chicago), we're going ahead with another. The club's overall match schedule is too crowded with matches and we can't get a separate date this year. So we're just declaring that the regular-season November match (second Sundays) is going to be a "Revolver" match. Since we still have to allow all those other people on the range, we'll let them, but as before, this match will be carefully designed to be as eight-shot hostile as possible. Yeah, those 627s and 929s are going to be discriminated against as much as possible, too. Some of us are stuck in the past with the "sixgun" thing- Elmer didn't write a book called "Eightguns", after all. To encourage participation, we've dropped the match fee to all Revolver Division entrants to $5. Plus, the winner of the division who isn't named "Phil Proietti" will be provided with a box of Federal primers in either small or large pistol size. We will feature six stages most likely, five large field courses in our inimitable style (with the hostility added) and a classifier. I'm lobbying for another stage space but it's probably not happening. Oak Park Sportsmens Club (NI10) is about 40 miles southwest of Chicago just off I-55 at the IL Rt 126 exit (old US 66). Pre-registration will become available the week before and would be recommended. The OPSC Action Shooting Sports page is here. The club site is here. We do have a supply of extra stuff for folks who don't always shoot sixguns such as speedloaders and speedloader carriers on a first-come, first-served basis. Your hosts will be Bill Zeller (that's me), OPSC USPSA program director and known Webley shooter, and Phil Proietti, OPSC vice-president.
  6. Hey All, I've been shooting since I was 12. I received some formal tactical training courtesy of the US Army during my 7 year stint where I was lucky enough to visit such wonderful places as Kuwait, Iraq and Mogadishu. I worked in the music industry for about ten years, mostly in Los Angeles, during which I never even picked up a gun. I built my first and second AR-15s last winter when the gun bug bit me again. Now I'm looking to start competing in whatever kind of matches I can. I've got my rifle, my Glock 23 and shortly I'll have a new Stoeger M3000 to add to my collection of hunting shotguns. If anyone has suggestions on where to start I'd appreciate it. I'm located 20 miles south of I-80 right along I-55. thanks, James
  7. Join us on May 25th at North Porter County Conservation Club for the 5th match of the 2014 Indiana Multigun Series. We will have 5 fun stages at this match, challenging your ability out to 100 yds. with rifle, down to 16 feet with birdshot. Setup: Saturday May 24th starting at 12:30pm (Please email me if you plan on coming out to help setup) Registration: will start no earlier than 8:00AM, and ends at 8:45AM Match Fee: $20 for NPCCC members, $25 for non NPCCC members, women & juniors 16 or younger shoot free. Shooters Meeting: 9:00 AM The latest revision of the INMG rules are attached to this email, for you reference. Round Counts (Approximate, bring double) Rifle: 100 Pistol: 100 Shotgun: 100 Pistol Caliber Carbines are allowed at North Porter County Conservation Club. No steel core ammunition is allowed at NPCCC. If you have any doubt as to whether or not your ammunition is steel-core, please find a magnet and test it before bringing it to the range. Use of steel core ammunition at any match at NPCCC will result in disqualification from the match, fines to cover target replacement cost, banishment from the range, banishment from all future INMG matches, and public ridicule on every known social media outlet in existence*. NOTE: all matches at NPCCC, AtlantaCC, Wildcat Valley and Hillside Shooting Sports are conducted under a COLD RANGE as per USPSA rules. All guns must be either holstered (or bagged) at all times, unloaded, hammer down, with no magazine inserted. Long guns should remain bagged, or in a rack with an open action, and/or an "empty chamber indicator" (flag) in place. It is the shooter's responsibility to ensure that the muzzle of any gun is never pointed in an unsafe direction. You may only handle your gun only at the direction of the range officer (RO), or in the designated "safe areas." You may not handle any ammunition or loaded magazines in the safe areas. Violation of these or any other safety rules shall result in a match disqualification. *Not really. But probably. RePete Briggs Multigun Match Director North Porter County Conservation Club
