While perusing the Bullseye-L forum, I came across this post by Texasref that really peaked my interest since loading some 147FP Coated lead is next on my agenda for the STI Stac P. As I have N320 in the PM right now, and plenty of 147FP Coated, thought I'd load up some sample rounds to test as soon as I'm out of "quarantine"............ Anyone use or have validated a similar load? Thanks!

I have always reloaded jacket and plated bullets for .40 and .45 ACP. I am now adding .9mm to the mix and exploring coated bullets for all 3 calibers. Mainly these will be for target practice, defensive training and maybe some competitions at some point. I will be shooting the appropriate caliber through my Glock 17, 19, 22, 34 and 41 all with stock barrels. Also in my HK VP-9, my Ruger SR1911 and Sig 1911 Tacops, P320, P226 and P229 again all with stock barrels. Specifically the Glock and HK have the polygonal rifling and this is where my confusion comes in. I have found on the websites for ACME Bullets, Blue Bullets and Precision Bullets that they are safe for use in Glocks and then I find a lot of posts saying they lead barrels and are unsafe in Glocks. So I apologize if this is a dumb question or has been asked before, I did try searching before posting but did't find a clear answer. So with that said please provide me some guidance here. Thank-you very much.

One of my local cast bullet suppliers called today to dicsuss some bullets I have on order, he has been supplying me with cast 9mm,40,44 and 45 bullets for quite a few years. Recently he has been producing limited quantities of coated bullets and I had order a few thousand for testing. His call was related to a local shooter who has been shooting a cast bullet with a black coating ( no brand given) who is seeing rapid rifling and throat wear in both revolvers and Semi/autos. due to this concern he is ceasing the production of coated bullets until he can investigate this more thoroughly. Has anyone seen or heard of similar reports regarding barrel wear and with coated lead bullets?

I picked up some 180 gr Swamp Popper Bullets from the Gator Classic. Watched their videos and it seems to be a pretty legit coating. Anyone have any experience with these? They seem to be a new company and new line and I haven't found much information out there. I have always been a Bayou Bullet shooter but always interested in something else that maybe better. http://shop.backwatershooters.com/main.sc
