Looking for a source of 10-round 9mm/38Super double-stack magazines for a Caspian frame. Anyone have a source for new? Used ones acceptable if in good working order. Thanks for looking.

Does anyone know of a gunsmith who can or has installed a full length dust cover on a short dust cover model ? I am serious in the pursuit of having this done to a Caspian widebody!!!!

I'm trying to put together a G24 for Limited, but I can't find an aftermarket G24 slide anywhere. Caspian and Lone Wolf apparently don't make them anymore. Does anyone know who makes an aftermarket long slide?

I am asking for any recommendations or referrals for gunsmiths currently building or working on Caspian HiCap pistols for USPSA/IPSC Open class. The owner of the shop I manage has offered to purchase both a Caspian HiCap frame and slide for me to build an Open pistol. It will be used to shoot action matches under the shop name for advertising and as a gift So, are there any gunsmiths out there specializing or accepting "parts provided" builds for Caspian frame Open guns? Any advice or help is appreciated.

Gents/Ladies, I have been shooting USPSA/Steel Challenge for the past 2 years and have become slightly addicted to the sport. I started with a Colt Rail Gun in SS division and quickly purchased a Dawson Precision CRP STI Edge in 40 S&W. I love developing my own loads and working/breaking/repairing my own guns as I learn. I have been contemplating picking up an Open Division pistol to play around with in Steel Challenge and gradually transition to when I can no longer track the front sight. I have researched the differences in 38 SC/9mm Major and come to the conclusion that both are expensive as one requires pricey brass while the other powder; and although 9mm brass is readily available you must spend more time sorting headstamps to maintain a relative OAL for PF consistency. I am shopping for a project Gun and I need some advice from those who have been where I am. Would you take the chance on a used gun or save up for something ready to rock? It took me quite a while to figure out what I preferred in a Limited Pistol, so I am betting it will be the same in Open. This is why I am not sure I want to drop $4K+ on something I may not prefer and end up with a mortgage on after I modify it to my liking. Thank you for any suggestions you can offer and have a great Memorial Day weekend.

Wondering if there are those out there that have an understanding of slide warranties between the different brands. I am posting this in the Open section as it seems like slides on open guns are correct fairly often, and this could be a living resource to those putting new guns or top ends together, From my limited understanding STI will warranty a cracked slide as long as it has not been cut to under 10 ounces and the cus are not what caused the crack. Can anyone confirm this? Also what are the warranties on CK arms, Caspian, etc? Will they cover the slides under the same circumstances? Finally are there ways, besides logos, that a manufacturer can identify their own slide for warranty work. Thanks all!! Edit: If you have a slide that has cracked. Please tell us where the crack was and if it was deemed by the manufacturer to be the result of slide lightening and therefore not warrantied. Pictures are great if anyone has those to accompany their posts.

Well lets start by saying I love the 1911 platform I also own a edge which I like but the balance just feels weird with the plastic grips, so I'm thinking of getting a caspian built. What are some of the advantages or disadvantages of each? I haven't heard of the sti grips cracking but it worries me, should it? I'm thinking I would go with rich from canyon creek for the work either the caspian or upgrading the edge, any idea on the cost for the caspian? Just stick with the edge or sell it to help fund the caspian? 5" or 6" caspian ? Just some advise from guys who have more experience then me would be great! Thanks
