  1. Has anyone measured the mec-gar 20rd 92fs mags to see if they will fit the 141mm gauge? They have the newer floor plate and would be nice for carry optics. https://mec-gar.com/shop/magazines/beretta/beretta-92fs-92g-92x-m9-9mm-20-round/
  2. I just got a rimfire Beretta, 92FSR, and for fun, I'm seeing what other real steel Beretta parts will fit on it to improve it. It is said to be a full size replica of the 92, and I've already put a "D" main spring in it, and put some aftermarket G10 grips on it. My rimfire one has a captured guide rod/recoil spring, and the 92A1 and m9A1 have one that looks very similar, before I spend the money on one, I was hoping someone out there with either of these guns could go and measure the diameter where the spring rides and the head diameter that seats in the frame against the take down lever. Aftermarket steel captured guide rod for the 92A1 I'm hoping to try out in my rimfire gun: Thanks, -Eli
  3. I followed the instructions on reversing the safety in my 1301, found here: https://forums.brianenos.com/topic/195183-reversing-the-safety-on-a-beretta-1301/ While the trigger group was out of the shotgun, the safety worked as designed. After re-inserting it into the frame and installing the cross pin that keeps in place, I am not able to pull the trigger. I pulled and replaced the trigger group several times, with the same results. What am I doing wrong? Thanks.
  4. I have a brand new Beretta 1301 Competition. I ran ~50 shells through it (just 7.5 shot, Estate Target loads) before a local 3 Gun match yesterday. I'm having trouble with loading that first shell from the mag tube. For the match, we pre-load the tubes in a staging area then chamber when we get to the line. I could not get that first shell to load onto the carrier so I could rack it in. I'd hit the little button and nothing would happen. Well, maybe once out of a dozen tries did the shell. If I held the bolt open and forced a shell onto the carrier through the ejection port it would cycle fine through the stage. Being that this gun is new to me, I don't know if I'm doing something out of sequence or if there's a defect. The manual isn't helping. I've tried these steps in various combinations: - empty chamber, rack it, pull trigger, safety engaged, fill tube, hit the button (not the bolt release). does anyone have the definitive answer to what series of steps are involved making the Beretta happy? Thanks!
  5. This was not a match, this was a class. the kind of class for young new Green Berets, old Ranger Bn guys, etc. to get instruction on taking your basic tactical shooting skills and getting better at USPSA. tons of stages during the two days. i was shooting a trusty old 92G, with another trusty old 92G in the bag. i like the old aluminum baseplates, and on the newer easily breakable Beretta plastic floorplates I take them off and replace them with Beretta, NDZ, or Bastion or whatever floorplates. i had done so on some of the new mags that come with a Wilson Brig Tac and some new magazines just like those I had bought. i never tested them. i ran a stage and on reloads two of those mags in a row failed to seat. Then a third. they made the magazines with such close tolerance to fitting the gun, a grain of sand or new metal baseplate prevented seating. always test your stuff first.
  6. Benelli M2 chokes work with Beretta 1301 ? thanks
  7. Hello, I've been searching for the past week for a good DOH holster in order to shoot production uspsa at my local club. The only company I can find that seems to make this is blade tech yet I cannot see where they make it specifically for the railed version of my gun (92a1). I've also read that ready tactical makes a good doh but I haven't read anywhere that they make one for my pistol. Can anyone please point me towards some literature concerning this or at least a doh holster that fits? PS: I'm well aware that there are better weapon choices for competition, I am shooting what I have until I can acquire a cz shadow target. Thanks
  8. Hello to everyone. I am brand new to this forum. It was recommended to me today by a gunsmith I was trying to hire. I have opened the first range and gun store ever to be permitted in Atlanta GA. I am looking for advise on how to find and hire a great gunsmith to operate at our new store in a metropolitan area in excess of 6 million people. I apologize if I am not using the forum correctly as I am truly new to this type of communication. Any help or interest will be much appreciated.
  9. I am the captain of the Florida State University Pistol Team. We shoot 92s in competitions and last year bought (for way too much) a 22 conversion kit. The mag that came with it isn't very reliable. Now that the kits are back in production I wanted to know if it was worth buying mags at $40 a piece. Is there another option that will work? I found this online http://www.cheaperthandirt.com/product/7-M92210 I know the guns went boom but do the mags work? Will they fit into a real Beretta? As a side note: Can anyone tell me how long these conversions are good for? We have 8 shooters on the team every semester should I pick up another conversion or just change out parts as need me?
  10. I'm looking really hard at the Wilson Combat "IDPA" package with the conversion to a "G" De-cocker. According to Wilson's website this package is IDPA legal for SSP based on the availability of factory parts. Would these modifications be legal for USPSA Production? The package consists of: Action / Trigger job (internal so should be OK) New rear sight (should be OK) Drill out conversion of front sight for fiber optic insert (should be OK) Oversize factory mag release (factory part - OK?) Guide rod (internal so should be OK) Grips (no issue) Beretta Elite II Hammer (factory part - OK?) Conversion of hammer drop safety to "G" De-Cocker (factory parts - not sure at all if this is OK). http://wilsoncombat.com/new/custom-beretta.asp#.Uyo4VsNOW1v Thanks in advance.
  11. I have a Beretta 96 and want to start competing. It it totally stock except for some Hogue grips and a trigger job... oh, and the barrel from a 92. Its perfectly reliable as I've put thousands of rounds through it in this configuration and the failure rate is actually less than with the .40 barrel (extremely rare). I can even use the .40 and 9mm magazines interchangeably, although I'm not as confident shooting .40 from a 9mm magazine (that might be the source of the rare failures when shooting .40) Does this setup exclude me from IDPA SSP and IPSC Production classes? If it does then I'll gladly tart the pistol up for the more liberal divisions... Thanks.
