Yo Brethren - I have a 650 with case feeder that I've only used to load 9 and 40 and have never had this issue. I previously prepped and loaded 5.56 on my 550, but have decided it's time to move the processes to the 650. I have a brand new conversion kit from Dillon and believe I have everything installed correctly. The problem is the case will not drop into the station locator. The case drops onto the top of rails and the case insert slide knocks it over. The station locator will not move forward any further, and I can't figure out an adjustment for the case to drop further rearward to drop behind the rails of the locator. I've haven't removed the insert slide to check it out, but figured if it worked for my pistol calibers, it would work for this. I've attached a photo. Thanks in advance for your input.

I stumbled across this case gauge on Tooth & Nail's website last night while checking out their shotguns. This gauge looks nice and I was wondering if anyone has seen/tried one. At $199, they're not cheap, but I'm inclined to take the plunge. Since my friends aren't willing to give me an intervention, I've been out of control buying guns and reloading equipment, I'll likely buy one and report back. It's 10X10 and it seems most ammo boxes are 5X10, so they won't transfer as easily as the Hundo/Shockbottle. Hopefully someone steps-up with a review first... I've seen forum talk about when Hundo/Shockbottle would be coming out with a 100-round case gauge for 5.56/223 REM, but it seemed it was a structural/engineering issue. Perhaps I'm not searching correctly, but I couldn't find anything on a case gauge like T & N's. http://www.toothandnailarmory.com/product/TN056.html

I have a bunch of once fired Lake City 5.56 with very shallow primer pockets. They measure on average .090 vs. spec of .117-.123. In 7 years of reloading and 10's of thousands of rounds I can't say that I have seen this and have always used Lake City for my match brass. Any ideas on what the root cause is? Machine gun brass? Built out of tolerance? Obviously it is resulting in high primers that are fully seated. I tested the offending cases and they seem to function but I'm very uncomfortable with it. Thoughts?

I've been watching prices for .223/5.56 ammo fall for a while now. I took up reloading for 3 gun rifle last Fall due to ammo availability, but now for close range hoser loads, I can buy 'em cheaper that I can load 'em. For the long range "accuracy" loads the difference per shell cost between "new" versus "reloads" is still significant. But in my case that don't matter. I'm way too happy with the results I've had with my home grown 77 gr loads. Either way, it means more shooting for less dollars. Bill
