Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. I have a Springfield and ran into the same problem. However, the bushing was not going in smoothly. I ordered a bushing tap from Brownells and cleaned up all the threads. I also purchased bushings from Challisgrips.com and will never use anything else. Fantastic product. A little red Loctite is perfect.
  2. I had him work on my 225A1. What I got back is a truly amazing pistol. The DA is smooth and effortless. I would not hesitate to send him work.
  3. I've had one for the last six months. I liked it so much I sent it to The Sig Armorer for a Carry Action Job. It is amazing. The DA pull is smooth and effortless. It's very accurate straight out of the box. The only issue I have is a Sig engineering one. The stock baseplate is very tall and limits the magazine capacity. A new baseplate could allow at least one more round in the magazine. It is one of the best gun purchases I have ever made. It's definitely in my "NEVER SELL" list.
  4. Slide Glide Lite as well Sent from my ASUS Transformer Pad TF300T using Tapatalk
  5. I had major issues with a 1-2 year old Tactical in 40. I had tuned mags and experimented with different lengths but I could never get it to run. STI has a new barrel ramp program for their barrel cutting machine. I sent them my barrel and It came back a week later. It now hand cycles everything even when doing it slowly. In fact, it cycles smoother than my Glock! I can't wait to shoot it.
  6. My brand new Glock 19 Gen4 does the exact thing. None of my other Glocks do it. It runs fine when shooting but it you ease the slide forward it stops and does not go into battery unless the trigger is moved forward. I'm hoping that shooting it will solve it.
  7. Are these these the mags that have the ramp/lip built into the top of the mag? If so, the most forward part of the ramp/lip is extending too far and catching on the inside of the gun. It doesn't take much. I filed a tad off the front and it fixed it. Take a ruler of something straight and set it on the front of the magazine. This will show how far forward the ramp/lip is compared the the front of the mag.
  8. I got to play around with Tango Down's prototype the other day. It made me want to get a Gen4 just for the mag release!
  9. Kelly, what's your opinion about trying this at the Tucson 3-Gun matches. I'm trying to figure out a fair and balanced approach. Do we just limit it to the He Man classes or implement it across the board. Were listening!
  10. I quickly zeroed my rifle at 50 yrds. and all was fine. I shot it at 200 yrds. days later and found that it was shooting ~6 inches to the left. There is no substitute for zeroing your rifle at the distances you are going to shoot!
  11. Is the Safariland (inner /outer belts) legal for tactical class at the SMM3G? Or do you have to wear only one?
  12. I use the 3-Gun Gear 7-shot side saddle. It fits just right and I have not had any problems with it so far. The 8-shot may be too long for me as it rides further down the receiver than I like. But that's just me. I've seen numerous Benelli shooters with 3-gun Gear and they are happy with it as well. The only problem I've encountered (and it's not a 3-Gun Gear problem) is that my thumb follows the shell into the tube, then the lifter comes up jamming my thumb in the shotgun. It ususally requires one or two people to extricate it. One holds the shotgun while the other pushes down on the lifter and pulls my thumb out. I just stand there bleed. Any real suggestions on how to stop this problem? (Edited by impact10 at 1:46 pm on Feb. 19, 2003)
  13. If you use the search function you will find that I have posted several comments concerning this shotgun. The ammo I use: 3 1/4 dram, 7 shot (I believe) and I use Winchester Tactical Slugs which always work. I had a friend whose X2 never worked. He sent it back to Winchester, they said it was fixed, and it never ran. He sold it and bought a Benelli. I have not had much trouble, but now that I said that......... If you have specific questions I'll try to answer them.
  14. A Smith and Wesson rep came to the range last week during an IDPA match. He brought the new "1911" and the Walther P99 look-a-like in .45 ACP. I was impressed with the 1911. He said the firing pin safety operates via the grip safety. It had McCormick parts, an external safety from their .45, Novak sights and the stainless finish looked like matte hard chrome. I was impressed with the fit and finish. However, parts of the gun are black (grip safety and thumb safety I believe-no big deal-doesn't affect shooting). Either have an all black gun or all stainless. We took several different brands of mags and they functioned fine. He let us shoot it during the match and there were no problems. It comes with 8-round mags that have a plastic semi-extended floorplate. I asked the rep if he was concerned about harming their relationship with Kimber. He said "We don't want the whole pie, just a piece". We asked him if they would be making it in .40 caliber or .38 super; he refused to say anything and just smiled. He gave a street price but I do not remember how much. I do remember that it was comparable to the Kimber. It has an awesome finish and I can't wait to have one in a .40 or 38 super. S&W are you listening! Oh yeah, the P99 model was cool too.
