Thanks BE’ers. I’ll just make a friendly suggestion that it may be better to do mags first and maintain control of the gun .

Looked in the rule book and could not find anything. After the “make ready command,” competitor loads then places firearm on table and start getting mags out to place on table. Anything wrong with placing loaded gun on the table? Is there a quotable rule?

Got a .270 guide rod from Carver and note said to run flat wire ISMI recoil springs, but the springs I got will not fit, but work fine on my .250” steel guide rod. Any suggestions on what springs to run. This will be on gen5 g17.

Not exactly a 1911, but this seemed like the best place. Anyway picked up a SA35 Hi Power and really like it, but front sight sucks for these old eyes and is too tall. Found some combat tritium sights but really desiring a fiber optic front sight, preferably a little shorter to raise poi. Any suggestions?

So not wanting to debate why, but put a Brownells G48 slide and barrel on my G 43. Gun runs , feeds and ejects without issue. However, it has created a very heavy 2stage trigger. All internals for slide were pulled from Oem g43 slide. So with the difference in tolerance between the two cause enough drag on safety plunger to create this? Where else should I be looking?

Thanks I like Salomon shoes, and if going 8” I’ll take a look at them. In the meantime I went with the Altra hiker height and I like. But I may still need the additional 8” support and check out theSalomon

Got the Carver captured rod and 15# spring on order thanks

I’ve done this conversion with my gen4 with the little conversion plug part. But, seeing a warning that this conversion does not work for Gen 5 as guide rod is longer. Any recommendations on correct way to do this?
