Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. Thanks for the info mr. moto! Much appreciated
  2. I received an email from Briley yesterday talking about their trigger modification for the Benelli. Has anyone here shot one, and what are your impressions?
  3. I apologize if I have missed this somewhere, but is there a published estimated round count for this match yet?
  4. Just to clarify - No compensators of any kind on the rifles? The last year or two Mike was allowing rifle compensators as long as they were unobtrusive and of similar size and shape of a flashider. He wouldn't allow the JP tankbuster but he was allowing a lot of others. Trying to figure out if I'm going to have to install a different front end on my rifle. Thanks
  5. EricM "Thanks, MarcO!! I would be interested in 1991 to 1994, as I have all the rest myself. .....and believe me, we're looking at them :" How about you skip the rifle standards stage with the 35mph crosswind blowing sand so hard you couldn't see the targets? That would be a good one to skip.
  6. I'm not sure if the match planners have any interest in this or not but I think I have 8 or 9 years of match stages from 1991 to 2003 somewhere. If you want a nostalgia factor I would be happy to email them to you for consideration.
  7. OK - This trigger is too expensive and doesn't offer any advantages over the JP trigger that I already have. Time to go practice. Thanks to everyone for your input.
  8. Does anyone have any experience with the Tac-Com 3MR trigger for 3 gun? A recent article in Small Arms Review was very positive about this trigger system for 3 gun. It's pretty expensive at $495.00 retail, and I am very happy with my JP triggers but my weakness is getting off really quick 2nd and 3rd shots at close in targets and I'm curious if this trigger would give an advantage. Thanks in advance for your input.
  9. This was a really fun event for a great cause. Kudos to Gregg Lewis for everything he did to make this happen - it wouldn't have happened without him. Pat yourself on the back Gregg! 15K is a really big deal!
  10. Thank you gentlemen - V-Tac it is.
  11. First of all - Thanks in advance for everyone's input. I just saw that we are going to need a sling for our shotgun for the northwest multigun match in Bend this year and I can't find anyone that make a universal style sling that will fit the Salient Benelli. I can buy a magazine sling attachment from Brownells but I can't find a sling with any kind of a universal attachment for the buttstock or pistol grip. Anybody have any suggestions??
  12. Thank you gentlemen! It appears that I have three options. Much appreciated input.
  13. I lucked out and ordered a JP 223 CTR upper receiver with the LMOS bolt system about a month before the madness began and received it several weeks ago. I had ordered this upper to replace the upper on my circa 1994 JP rifle that was beginning to shoot a little too loose. I had planned to continue shooting the old upper as a blaster and use the new upper as my new match gun but still using the same lower. Unfortunately for me, the upper does not fit on the old JP lower as the front lug has a different dimension and the receivers will not close. Under normal circumstances I would have just turned around and ordered a new ready built lower from JP but that isn't going to be an option for a long time. I do have another rifle made by LMT whose lower the JP upper fits on and seems to function well with when hand cycled. However, the LMT has a carbine stock and it appears that the required LMOS buffer will not fit in a carbine length buffer tube. So I was going to replace the buttstock but then got to thinking that I might be able to use the bolt that was supplied with the CTR in a standard weight JP bolt carrier (which I have) as an option to replacing the buttstock. My question is do I need to worry about headspacing if I use the correct bolt with a standard weight JP bolt carrier? Or should I just go and get a rifle length buffer tube and a different buttstock? Thanks to all for your input.
  14. Thought maybe I should offer an update. The bolt that came with the JP upper was not ramped. JP did some research and informed me that their bolts were not compatible with the CMMG lower, but that one of their employees had just purchased a CMMG lower to build a 9mm rifle and they would be happy to modify the bolt to work. I shipped the bolt to them a couple of weeks ago and received the new bolt last week. I have not had a chance to shoot it but everything appears to work perfectly. My thanks to JP for standing behind their product.
  15. Yep, I new this was going to be difficult. I'm more than willing to wait for the gun, but do you think if you placed an order for a gun with JP, and the ban goes through before they can complete the build, would they still be allowed to honor the order anyway? This happened to me in 94 during the first ban. I had a rifle on order and the ban took effect. They had to modify the rifle to meet the new rules that took effect after I placed the order but before the rifle was built. Instead of a bayonet lug and flash suppressor which were standard at the time I got a "barrel harmonic tuning device" and not bayonet lug. JP will do everything they can to fill the order but they will absolutely follow the letter of the law, as they should.
