Hey Duane, Welcome to the game! A simple kydex OWB holster like Blade Tech's Classic is a good start. Retention during movement is a big plus. I'm not the sharpest knife in the drawer so I try to keep it simple... It never hurts to go out and watch a couple matches to see what's popular with the shooters with skills and physique. Good Luck!

New to 3 Gun... a little guidance
Blockhead replied to Bigharge's topic in Multi-gun Gear & Accessories
IOUU is absolutely right about watching other shooters, asking questions and running what you have until you figure out what divisions you want to shoot and what kind of gear appeals to you. If you have to buy anything, keep it simple and inexpensive. Then invest in practice! Welcome to the sport! LMK if you’re ever in the Las Vegas area. We have matches running here almost every weekend. -
3-Gun Recession?
Blockhead replied to Blockader's topic in Multi-gun Rules / Stage Design / Match Administration
I’ve seen it done by one of the RO’s at HE-Man. “Prepare for Glory!” Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk -
I was looking at the kit from M2 at https://www.ratchetingbuckles.com/ratchet-buckles-ladder-straps/1-ratcheting-buckle-attached-to-extension-tab-rb1t-n-blacktanwhite-2-2-2/ . Anybody have a suggestion on using the soft or firm strap? Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

I’ve read about the Carbon Arms belt but never seen one. Seems like a good idea, especially with those of us using longer belts. Anybody have any feedback on the carbon arms belt in particular or the concept in general? Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

I have a 16” DPMS that runs great for HM Optics 3Gun. It’s worked for me out to 700 yd.s. I’ve been thinking about trying PRS and am trying to figure out the best value. I was thinking about either building an upper for my LR-08 or buying a bolt gun like the Howa HCR or a Bergera BMP. Was thinking of probably going with a 6.5 CM either way. Any thoughts? Reviewed the Tac-Heavy equipment rules. Not seeing any minimum caliber or magazine capacity restrictions for the pistol. Does that mean a Glock 9mm with 140mm hi-cap mags is ok? Also wondering if when shooting this division with a minor pistol, the 1 shot on paper to neutralize rule still applies. Not trying to stir up a bucket... Just want to be clear. Really looking fwd to this match. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Awesome Range in North Texas
Blockhead replied to Blockhead's topic in Travel, Locations, Ranges, etc.
They both seem like great ranges.. I need a lot of work with my rifles so ETTS seems best for me... It's great to have a practice venue again [emoji106][emoji3][emoji106] Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk -
I've been looking for a range in Texas for practice ever since we left Nevada in 2012. One of the guys I squadded with at NTXMG suggested I check out ETTS in Waxahachie (http://www.ettsgunrange.com/home#intro ). I'm really happy that I took his advice. This range is 1 hour from our house in Carrollton and has sunup-to-sundown access for members. Patrick and his crew are super friendly and glad to help. I went out yesterday for my 1st visit as a new member. I asked if they had any steel I could setup for pistol & shotgun drills. Patrick showed me where it's all stored and let me have at it... Man, this guy likes to weld. Had some interesting designs too. His target stands are made from plate and kinda heavy but you don't have to stake 'em. Had a great day, Looking fwd to getting to know these folks. [emoji106][emoji3][emoji106] Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Was chatting with an ex-Marine at the range yesterday. He shared that he learned to zero the ACOG with a target at 37 yards using the 300m Aiming line (second down from the chevron). He said this would set point of impact at the top of the chevron for 100m, first line below it at 200m and so on with M193 55gr ammo. He shared that his unit used this method for setting/checking zero in the field. Can anyone verify if I got this right and share any experience using this method for the game? Sounds like it would save a lot of time. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
