  1. This is very true and important information. I’m one of those guys years ago who had a round detonate on the ejector and still have scars on my hand as a reminder.
  2. I see those magazines being less than ideal unless it runs on other lowers.
  3. The SVI signature certainly does feel smaller than the Cheely. I have two of each and next one will be another SVI. In my little bit of experience, the Cheely is much easier and less work to fit to the frames.
  4. I just put a set of those on one of my open guns and very happy with them. Took a bit of fitting but not terrible either. I would buy another set and not even think twice if I needed them at this point.
  5. I picked up a lightly used 4.25” Prodigy and like it pretty well so far. Have an Atlas tool-lesss guide rod in it but I’m not loving it at the moment it is doesn’t give you a good feeling your confidence when the guide rod lock engages when shooting. Did a quick trigger job with stock parts and is pretty nice right now. I don’t know why anyone says the EGW evolved sear spring does not work because I dropped one in and seems to be perfectly good. It’s the only spare new one I had available so I had to try. So far like the gun pretty well I’ve had no failures of any sort other than the guide rod. Stock mags run fine. I have a few hundred rounds through it at this point.
  6. I take a 4’ level to the range and draw a plumb line on cardboard at 100 yards. Then have a small level that fits on the picatinny rail to ensure the rifle is level and go from there.
  7. Should work great. I have two of them. Rock on with the big stick!
  8. I had that piece eventually break off on an STI, but never caused any problems. You’ll be fine.
  9. Thanks for the link. I have seen those around but just figured they came with a certain holster.
  10. The comp cracking is a common problem with that series of Open gun and has been posted about several times. No easy repair. Time for a new barrel and comp.
  11. Tried to deal with the iron sights, but just can’t. This is probably the way it should be anyway Milled the slide to use the Glock MOS plate system.
  12. Thanks. I did the work myself. I have a lathe and mill at home so I can take care of my own work when desired.
  13. Thanks for the replies and the pictures are great. I have the STI/SV regular insert and the SV steel insert so sounds like one of those will work for sure. Gun will be here Friday afternoon with any luck.
  14. Double Alpha doesn’t have a Racemaster holster insert block at this time. Anyone know what might be the closest fit?
  15. Only hang fires I’ve ever experienced were with Wolf large rifle magnum primers. Never had that issue with pistols.
  16. That’s why they call it “grabagun”
  17. I think the RTS2 is hit or miss in battery life. I had one, V4, that would eat a battery every 3 weeks or so. Literally a match and couple of practice sessions was all you got. Tried various battery brands with same results. It got sent back. Current RTS2 seems to be fine as you would expect. I’ve never had battery problems with any other RDS other than Railways, but that has always been their thing.
  18. There is a warning about the fake sites on the actual Dan Wesson website. https://danwessonfirearms.com/product/dwx/
  19. I wonder if that’s a legit site? Looks like the only payment methods are Zelle or cryptocurrency
  20. I like that V8 pattern. Might do that to my edge
  21. Rifle shooters have that done on purpose as the harder surface in theory adds to the life of the bore since many rifle barrels don’t last very long anyway.
  22. Look at the big matches kind of like deer hunting. There’s no way anybody saves enough money on their grocery bill to justify the money spent chasing deer or other game. The big matches are similar as you are still just shooting cardboard and steel targets however there is certainly more work that goes into running them compared to a $20 match and the stages will likely be more challenging. Don’t worry about the few extra dollars spent and enjoy yourself.
