Funny to read that now. Im using the 11# and it's definitely the right one for me. Not shooting the X5 for a while since I'm not sure how long the upgrade process will take and I have some matches starting in December. Its too bad I love the gun. Haven't requested the upgrade but plan to.

Here is my experience with a couple of things discussed so far. SIGHTS: my gun shot really low and left, like 6" at 15 yards. I was able get it zeroed by adjusting the rear only up and to the right . It is really accurate. RECOIL SPRING: I got the Springer SS guide rod and I have settled on the 11# spring for 132 power factor 147 grn 9mm. I started out with the 14#. Then shot a USPSA match with the 12 and really liked it, but today I tried the 11 and believe thats the one for me. If not it's the 12#. TRIGGER: I polished, took a sear spring out, and I put in the curved Gray Guns PELT trigger. It's measuring around 4.75 pounds. I like the trigger a lot. It is clean and crisp and while it could be lighter it is not holding me back at all. The reset is not as tactile as the stock trigger but after shooting it I see no negative effect, especially fast shooting. By the way the reset feel improved after about 1,000 rounds. I don't know the pull weight before the changes - I suspect 6.5-7. MAGS: I shoot Production so I took out the magwell and I added the Springer Precision basepads. SLIDE RELEASE: I changed mine to the smallest made since sometimes I would not go to slide lock due to my thumb placement. Hope this helps.

Thanks. Sorry for my ignorance but do I do that by starting a new topic? Not sure how to do that. Thanks.

I shot about 10,000 rounds through my P320 full size with an 11# spring with no problems. Now I'm going to try the 11 on the X5 thanks to you. So I don't think you're crazy. I'm never completely sure I have the right spring. I test by doing bill drills and 10 and 25 yards and comparing the spread and also by shooting some rounds carefully watching the sights. I can see if the front dipped or if I had to push it down. But I think there is an element of anticipation that may affect the results (you may let the gun come down with a heavier spring vs push down more with a lighter spring. Last practice I just went with the one that felt better. Does anyone have a better, simpler, more definite procedure? I heard a gunsmith say you should run the lightest spring your gun will take, but When I have to push the sight down for a follow-up shot at distance it feels like a lot of time lost.

So funny. I had a similar experience in that when i first shot the gun it was way low and left at 15 yards. I thought I had lost all skill. I shot from a sand bag and same thing. I since moved the sights way up and to the right and the gun is VERY accurate.

How many rounds do you have through the gun? I ask this because I also installed the same trigger and I could not hear or feel any reset. So i put in the stock trigger return spring and I could feel and hear the reset. I contacted Grayguns And they said maybe I need to shoot the gun more. Well now I have 1000 rounds through it and I put their trigger return spring back in and I can feel the reset. It may seem too soft on dry fire but it was fine shooting. I like the trigger now.

Thanks. Maybe I should buy the grams kits. If anyone can recommend it or not please comment.

Anyone know how/where to get p320 17 rd magazine springs? Sig or Woff don't sell them.

I heard at least twice that the gun may need to be broken in a bit (I hate that idea) before it will work with lighter loads. Not my experience though, I could shoot my reloads with the stock spring. My FS didn't work with a 14# either. I tried that weight on my X5 only after seeing Alma mention it and I like it. Like I said I bet I could run a 12 with no issue.

In case it helps I shoot 147 grain bullets at around 132 power factor and Ive been between the 14 and the 13# springs.; I prefer the 14. Just out of curiosity today I shot at least 50 rounds with a 12# spring with no issues.

Mine shot incredibly low too. To the point that I think SIG just screws in the rear sight and doesn't sight it in. I just adjusted it and its a very accurate gun.

No over travel or reset was reduced. The gunsmith told me he just polished and removed one of the sear springs. On my X5 I did some polishing, removed one sear spring, and put in the PELT trigger. Still not where I want it. I don't have your skills so I'll probably send my gun to Grayguns at some point. Thanks for all the info!

I wondered about this too but the trigger job on my p320 FS included the removal of one of the springs; 10,000 rounds through the gun with no issues. Fascinated with this trigger job report too.
