Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. I don't think I've seen a bad looking Titan yet.
  2. I currently shoot a ~10 year old CRP Edge and I love it. I don't have a lot of trigger time with limited-division glocks, but so far this gun is everything I could ask for, at a fraction of the cost of a full or semi-custom gun. I've got a bunch of friends with guns from Atlas, and the guns are fantastic. But, as a new limited shooter, I am pretty content with my STI for the time being.
  3. I have loved absolutely every Atlas I've gotten my hands on. Right now, I'm one of the only people I shoot with regularly who's still "slumming it" with an STI. I'll definitely be giving Adam a call when I'm ready for one of my own, whenever that is.
  4. this gun looks awesome! Suddenly I'm no longer *quite* as enamored with my Edge as I was a week or two ago...
  5. I’m the same, but with cross-dominance. I *want* to shoot both eyes open, but I can’t get the sights to line up in front of the correct eye.
  6. The gear wall to get into single stack was what kept me from trying USPSA out almost 10 years earlier. I was so convinced I needed all this top of the line gear to even show up, I never gave it a chance.
  7. I run a DAA premium belt, 3 Alpha X pouches, and an Alpha X holster. the adjustment and draw on the Alpha X pouches are superior to the racemaster, in my opinion. The plastic sleeve on the inside really, really cuts down on drag. The alpha X holster is also superior to the racemaster. The adjustments are all much more solid and you can perform a lot of them while wearing the holster. The racemaster virtually requires a thigh pad, which I found annoying. In my opinion, it's well worth the incremental cost to upgrade to Alpha X gear.
  8. I'm 100% guilty of giving bad gear advice. I have a bad tendency to push "optimal" gear, like the big metal DA/SA guns, DAA gear, etc. I need to remember that I still enjoyed my first few matches with crappy gear and the 9mm I already had anyway.
  9. There's a match south of me that runs 20/squad. 6-7 hours for a local match can be rough, especially in july and august.
  10. I did the same thing, until I made some friends in the sport. I got tired of finishing in the bottom third, so my time and money commitment had to increase. I definitely enjoyed it as anew way to shoot guns initially, though. After so much time standing still at a square range and punching paper, running around outside and trying to go fast was an incredible change.
  11. ...unless you want a DQ, of course.
  12. I wish more people would think like this. This is how I was taught in my RO seminar - if you can avoid it, do not let the shooter start if they are out of compliance. It isn't your job to catch people out and send them packing to open - you should be helping them avoid that, if at all possible.
  13. I had to get myself into it - I wasn't lucky enough to have a friend trying to drag me out to matches. But time and money are limiting factors to all of the friends I ask about it. They're all shooters, but they won't even come out to shoot my production rig with free ammo. This hobby is an expensive one - to compete at any reasonable level requires hundreds, if not thousands, of dollars in ammunition every year, not to mention equipment and match fees. I'm hooked, so I'm not complaining. But when a new shooter looks at getting involved in this sport, 4-figure pricetags can be a huge deterrent.
  14. I just got to try out a Titan belonging to one of my friends - I'm really into the inclusion of the Evo grip. If I could get some trigger time on a Nemesis, I might be sold.
  15. Do you have any experience with the Pre-tuned mags that Atlas offers? I've been window-licking a nemesis custom - and if you're gonna spend 6 grand, you might as well make it 7 and get a new set of magazines.
