    P320 X5 Thread

Top Gun Supply has PELT 2 in stock FYI.
  2. I was new to reloading then and instead of speaking in FPS I assumed most would be competition shooters here and relate to PF. As for wanting it in that range is actually what my gun liked. I had a buddy make me some different loads and those that ran 1,000-1,050 FPS or 125-130 PF were the most accurate and best feeling.
  3. Smoke is the same. Not so noticeable outdoors but indoors shows the cloud. Accuracy is same if not better, PF has been 130-131-130-129-130 at the majors this year.
  4. For those with Grayguns parts. Follow this link. https://grayguns.com/grayguns-statement-concerning-sig-sauer-p320-voluntary-upgrade/
  5. What TitoR said. BTW I changed to a different load. 3.6gr of TiteGroup with a 125gr Black Bullets International and a COAL of 1.100" running a 14# recoil spring also.

Interesting something must be hung up somewhere along the way. Do you have any other grip modules besides the X5? Maybe try the FCU in there and see if problem persist. If you have time can you send me or post some pics of your FCU. Mainly the area where the hang up is and then the Left and right rear of the fcu. I had a similar problem when I changed from gen 1 to gen 2 slide stop. I messed up and tapped the trigger back into place while not supporting the safety lever pivot and housing pin and it caused the slide to lock up when racked.

The takedown lever is usually very stiff at first because it is engaging the magazine block while simultaneously moving the guide rod up and out of the way. Make sure all your pins are tight on the FCU too before re installing it into the grip. Then once you get the takedown lever back into place, lift up on the slide lock lever to disengage the magazine block, put slide back on making sure the guide rod is centered on the barrel. With the takedown lever in the open position 90* vertical put the slide back on and leave the slide locked rearward, rotated takedown lever forward, rack slide a few times. The X5 is really over sprung and it takes about 20# of force to rotate the takedown lever, I use the magazine by placing the bottom of the base pad on top of the lever and pushing and rotating at the same time. Hope this helps.

Not a knock towards you, just used your quote for reference. Sometimes the rules are interpreted very differently by others. USPSA rules have a few contradictions I've seen in production modifications. It's sadly do what "you" think is right and if you get caught, try your best to explain and point out the multiple rule sets that support your decision. With so many approved guns it's hard to make a general blanket rule for minor parts and swapping of parts in a set manufacture. Its like OFM (Original Firearms Manufacture) is interpreted so many ways when I talk to people.

Read the rules, don't read into them. Is the X5 on the approved production list? Yes! So are all models of p320 except the SC. Thus allowing you to swap "most" parts between any P320 or X5 on the approved list. So according to the above rule, if you wanted to place an X5 flat trigger in any model of the P320 it would be legal. If you wanted to swap different generation slide lock levers, it would be legal. If you wanted to swap sizes of grips (S,M,L) it would be legal. If you wanted to put an X5 grip module on a FS slide for production it would be legal because the grip module is a readily available part that doesn't require a 4473. To me it's no different than switching out a Gen 3 glock frame for a Gen 4 because of the new mag release size. They are both approved and on the list.

D4 21.6 states Sights, firing pins, firing pin retainers, pins, extractors and ejectors MAY be replaced with OFM or aftermarket parts. Any other components which are externally visible may ONLY be replaced with OFM parts which are offered on the specific model of gun or another approved gun from the same manufacturer except as specifically clarified below. Examples of external components which may only be replaced with OFM parts include (but are not limited to): magazine releases, slide stops, thumb safeties and triggers.

Appendix D7 21.4 is what you're looking for. It will answer all your questions.

The GGI triggers are legal in production and CO. Since the X5 is on the approved production list you can use the GGI or sig flat trigger in any other p320 on the approved list.

Got my X5 almost ready for CO. So far it sports the Grayguns competition enhanced leverage trigger service (CELTS) Springer Precision Leupold DPP adapter plate, one piece grit grip tape, extended mag release, and 21 round base pads with grams follower and springs (on there way) Leupold DPP with 7.5moa Delta reticle. Just waiting on new guide rod and spring options. Shot it today with no issues. Still trying to figure out what I want my zero yardage to be.
  15. Go to topgunsupply and they have most of the parts in stock. i keep spare safety lever spring, sear spring, extractor with spring and pin, striker spring, striker reset spring, mag catch spring and cup, take down lever O-ring, and trigger bar spring from Grayguns. All that is about $60
