I guarantee you that $500 in training or in ammo is going to help you more than adding a couple oz's to your gun. I wouldn't say no to that extra weight but unless you have money to blow you're better off spending it elsewhere for improvements to your shooting.

Highly doubtful, that would mean taking away some peoples rankings which I don't think they would ever do. New high hit factors doesn't necessarily mean that they have increased the high hit factor from where it was, I believe for CO some of them are supposed to be lowered. *shrug*

I believe when I weighed mine it was 36.5oz but that's with the tungsten guide rod

I mounted my DPP directly to my X5, you have to file off more than just a little from the DPP though which most likely voids the warranty. It's roughly 1/4" up and a bit more than an 1/8" back into the DPP that you have to file in order for it to fit. I just did it bit by bit until it fit, I believe there are images of it done to the DPP somewhere in the massive X5 thread.

X5 vs RX X5 has a longer barrel + it's a bull barrel which helps since this is a lighter gun the added weight will help the gun shoot a bit flatter X5 has a different grip module that has a bigger beaver tail, a weight in the grip, a indent in the trigger well for higher hand placement, and allows for a magwell if you choose to shoot limited with your gun at some point. X5 slide is has lightening cuts on it which can help when you throw in the added weight of an optic. X5 allows for more than just the Romeo1 to be used on it with the Springer Adapter plate you can use most recommended optics out there. RX - Ready to go out of the box you don't have to worry about buying an optic. They're going to be selling X-5 Grip modules on their own soon I believe so you can always buy one of these to throw on there to minimize the differences between guns. Both the Walther Q-5 and the Sig have proven themselves to be good guns for Carry Optics. I believe the Walther trigger feels a little better right out of the box but with a trigger job by Gray Guns or Burke the X5 feels significantly better.

Where do you get Sig parts from? I looked on sig's page and there isn't much, do I just need to call them? I have a p320x5 and I would like to get some backup parts as well as replacing the rear elevation sight screw that I gave to a friend who lost his. What other spare parts do people tend to keep in their gun bag for their P320x5 Thank you!

I had to drop down to a 12lb spring to get the brass to stop hitting the glass. I would prefer to use a 13lb spring but I think it's going to require some filing on the extractor in order to make it work.

I mounted mine but didn't use a specific screw length. I just took the 1" 6-48 screws from Brownells and cut them down until they weren't sticking out.

Thank you for the offer but I got it figured out. I went out and zeroed it today. I've been zeroing it at 25 yards and had experienced a 2-2.5" drop when shooting at close targets, after removing the base plate I'm only seeing a 1" drop which should be a lot easier to account for.

I'm still somewhat hesitant about having done this, you're having to file away a good amount of the the protective housing around the optic which will void the warranty and make it more susceptible to damage and failure. Knowing this if you still want to do it, it's relatively simple. I used a combination of my dremel tool, small filing tools, and some fine grit sandpaper to pretty it up. You can get a good sense of how far in and how high up you'll need to file away at the front and bottom of the optic, you want to leave the bottom a little further than the rest so it will slide into the base laterally. Once I had it to where it was just a bit too long to set right into the base I used the metal file to work away at the upper portion creating an angle. Be careful when using your dremel tool as it will cause the optic to heat up due to the friction, it took me a long time to finish this because I didn't want to heat it up enough to damage the internal components.

It looks like I had some residual blue loctite in there which was what was making it seem like the 6-48 screw would not work. after thoroughly cleaning them out the screws worked some fine and I was able to attach the optic flush with the base without having to use the Springer adapter plate. Hopefully reducing the offset will allow for less variance in my shots when going from long to short as well as allowing me to shoot less walls where I think I'm ok because I can see the dot ha ha. I'm trying to figure out what size screws I need to attach my DPP directly to the upper receiver. I've made the adjustments to the optic I just need to figure out what screws will fit. I contacted sig and they told me 6-48 so I ordered those from Brownells but they're not working.

I've recently switched over to Carry Optics, I'm using the Deltapoint pro with Springer adapter plate. I purchased the stainless steel guide rod with 14lb spring and it felt very similar to the manufacturers setup so I've cut 1.5 coils off and it seems to have helped but I'm still getting shell casings hitting my optic. I was told I either need to increase the power of my loads or continue to decrease the weight of the spring? At what point should you stop cutting coils and just go for a lower weight spring?

I would reach out to Paul Phegan, he's there in Australia and his son shoots as well. He should be able to give you some good advice as to what gun to go with. A problem you're going to run into with the 2022 is lack of aftermarket parts to make it more efficient. If you were to go with more traditional competition guns you'll have a lot more options down the road. If he's uncomfortable with letting the hammer down I would suggest going with a P320F or the Q5 Match, I really wish they could get the P320x5 verified as it makes for a great production gun right out of the box. I think you'll find there are not a lot of Sig's being shot in IPSC production division you'll probably see more CZ's, Tangfolio's, Glocks, etc.

The 7.5 is overkill the 2.5 is intense enough that you'll have no problem finding the dot and will be able to make quicker more accurate shots. It also won't eat through the battery as fast as the 7.5. I'm just waiting on my Springer adapter plate to arrive in the mail and I'll be running it. I'll post a picture when I get it all setup.

Spoke with Springer Precision and they said the weight of the Deltapoint Pro adapter plate is 3oz, so your basically adding 4 oz more to the slide than you would with the Romeo 1. How much will that extra 4oz on the slide effect the gun?

I'll believe it when I have one in hand. I talked to several dealers and none of them have heard of something being shipped to them today, maybe tracking numbers just haven't trickled down the grape vine quite yet. Minus the magwell and add on different basepads right? Wonder if i would be better off buying a bunch of 17rd magazines for production and saving these for when I shoot CO?

I don't think that he's blaming the dealers, If the blame is on anyone it's Sig and the lack of information they're putting out to their dealers and to the public. They could pretty easily put it out there that they are doing a soft release for 25 guns and after they've received feedback from those 25 they'll look at doing a bigger release or something along those lines. I don't think anybody would blame them for that and it would create a realistic expectation vs them saying "They're Shipping" and making everyone think that all 2k+, that they said were ready to ship, had been shipped out to dealers.

It's been 2 weeks since the Sig Pro shop started selling/shipping the X5 and I have yet to hear of anyone getting one from their local firearm distributor. I've contacted several larger stores in and out of state to see if they have even heard of a ship time from Sig and none of them have. Is it normal for Sig to only sell a new gun from their store so they can get the full MSRP for the first month?

Yeah I saw that as well I'm going to have to place an order with BBI or Leatherhead bullets.

Thanks for the write up Alma, It sounds like SP is on top of things as far as enhancements go and RHT is already knocking out the holsters. Has anyone heard ship dates from a regular distributor? Seems like most people who have them got them straight from Sig.

His machine arrived today and he'll be back up and running this coming week. I think he has a small backlog but he will most likely start taking orders. I've been shooting H&S for about a year now, 125's and 147's, most run a couple grains over which can help you out on the chrono stage.

Mason Lane just got his hands on one and does a good overview of the gun.

I thought they were saying that it was supposed to be around 5lbs out of the box? Do you know if Grey Guns has plans on trying to get that lower?
