Looks for Match

Looks for Match (2/11)

  1. I’m in the process of sending my slide in for an optic cut and was planning on having some other work done. I haven’t been in the game for the last 5 years so I don’t have complete understanding of the current modification rules. The two I’m concerned about are the end of the slide “bob” and the shallow cut along the middle of the slide. I know the (picture example) grip stippling is not legal. I’m pretty sure it’s legal in uspsa but not sure about Idpa.
  2. Quick skim over the rule book does not contain the dust cover rule for ESP. Anyone know if the accu shadow sp-01 is legal now? I remember they were not allowed at nationals a couple years ago...mainly because the barrel bushing pushed it out of SSP.
  3. Just wondering what tools shooters find useful?
  4. I personally like the 147's and would shoot them all the time but cost is a factor for me. I'm currently trying different low power 115 loads that "feel" the same as 130 pf 147's. These will be practice / SC loads and will save me around 5c a shot.
  5. So the consensus is the inner belt will work well for idpa? Currently looking closely at the wilderness belt but if I can get a two for one...
  6. Looks like the Sti is probably a good way to go. Do people find switching triggers (from a long curve Sti to the gunsmith) changes the interface with the sear? Or can triggers be changed out without changing takeup etc.
  7. I've been shooting the Hornady 115 and 147 and have been really happy with the quality. Looking to make the change to coated lead for practicing for the 3-4 cents saved per round.
  8. I'd like to put a shorter flat trigger vs the one that came on my Sti 2011. Looks like the SVI is double the price. Any reason to pick the Sti over the SVI? Gunsmith fees should be about the same (one needs the trigger shortened the other needs the track widened).
  9. You might need slim bushings for the grips you want to put on tomorrow. Great range report!
  10. Looking at adding another limited gun and was wondering what the consensus is on the triggers coming out of the shop? Pull weight and overal feel would be great.
  11. Mine works fine with the 13 lb spring. Normally the 15 lb spring is used for major power and imo will only make the problem worse.
  12. i use a 5# firing pin spring in mine and it is very reliable. However, my trigger is just over 4 lbs so probably useless for open. You might try an extended firing pin if your springs are softer.
  13. I feel your pain...I have an accu shadow that is not legal to play in idpa. Recently purchased a cz 91715 to be legal and hopefully not be outlawed as the rules continue to change.
  14. I really enjoy all the different options I have in my area. Currently I'm having a lot of fun at the local idpa matches and getting to know all the other competitors. Let's face it...the time spent on the cof is < 4 minutes for the entire day. The rest of the time is spent having a good time with new/old friends.
  15. I've used a model B for the last 20 years...with regular use the last 5. Works good although it would be nice to have bearings instead of plastic bushings.
