Looks for Match

Looks for Match (2/11)

  1. I quit using corn cob media after I found it was attracting rats.
  2. BE-86 and Power Pistol are also excellent options. I like it with 200 grain slugs.
  3. Before my wife went to 147s & Unique, her pet load was a 124 & 7 grains of BD. She's not a competitor, she just likes what "feels good" to her.
  4. The only load that I even came close was 135 Noslers and a BUNCH of Longshot to get 711 #'
  5. Hopefully you haven't loaded a truckload of them. If it's only a mag full, I would shoot them. 10mm 180 Montana Gold or Precision Delta is my std 10mm load with 9.0 of Longshot. Recently I started shooting 200s with Power Pistol or BE-86. I found that with 7.8 of PP, new Starline brass & Hornady XTP I had an extreme spread of only 8 at 1170 FPS from my Kimber. That one is my keeper. Be safe.
  6. Have a look at this site & go through all you want. IMHO it looks like BE-86 https://www.ilrc.ucf.edu/powders/sample_detail.php?powder_id=1
  7. My loving wife has tolerated me loading everything from bunny farts to fire breathing, from 9mm to 9X25 and other crazy stuff. She has come to love & favor 147 Blue Bullets & some (about 4 grains?) Unique. It's her pet load.
  8. Rowel, you are in the 9mm section. While some folks will know your answer here, you would have better luck in the 44-45 section. Good luck to you. Personally, I don't use TG, but it is quite popular, regardless what I think.
  9. My notes say I used 4.1 grains with a PD 124 JHP. Almost 1000 FPS from my shield. My notes also say I should/could back it down to 3.8-3.9, maybe. Does this help at all? Be safe.
  10. This is the answer, right here. It actually takes longer to explain than it does to do.
  11. I used Red Dot with lead 200 grain SWCs over the weekend. They made 1 large ragged hole in the target about 12 yards out. It was decent enough, but I still prefer WST in target loads.
  12. Loading 10mm 200 grain with Power Pistol in brand new Starline brass I saw an extreme spread of only 8. I was ecstatic!
  13. Use the COAL that works in YOUR gun. Search "plunk test".
  14. My wife shoots the 9mm in our house. She doesn't compete & doesn't care about chrono data. She shoots what "feels good" & she finds accurate. She likes the PD 147 TCFP and 4.3-4.4 grains of Unique powder.
  15. My 10mm choices include Longshot, Blue Dot, Power Pistol and BE-86 depending on which bullet I use.
