Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. This is a welcome thread. Bought an 8# jug several months back to try in 45acp, but had not gotten to it. Thanks for the data, it's very hard to come by, since Alliant doesn't endorse e3 for handgun.
  2. Went to the opening of Cabela's, League City, TX, yesterday and was very disappointed in the powder selection. Three short shelves behind the gun counter, with a small fraction of the known powders. Sales go all week on many items throughout the store, just none on what I need.
  3. RDA, Wishing I still lived in N. Canton (grew up there, Kames was just up Route 8, now 800). No Clays sightings anywhere in SE Texas. Hoping the supply moves our way soon.
  4. It's right at 2 gallons empty. I can make you one if you want.Louu, Thanks for the offer, but I have a Thumblers. Just trying to tweek your recipe for my size of tumbler. Thanks much, your efforts and reply are appreciated.
  5. Louu, just one question... Read through this and your tumbler build thread, and could probably do the math, but I'm feeling lazy...didn't see what the actual volume of you tumbler is... How many gallons is that whale?
  6. Wish I still lived in the area.
  7. LGS had 2 1# bottles of unicorn powder today. I was so stoked! AA #5 came home for the first time since I started reloading two years ago.
  8. You do have to put yourself on the wait list and yes they did close it until August when membership renewals complete. Wait times run between 15 to 18 months. csw
  9. +1 for PSC Shooting Club. Takes some time to get a membership, but well worth it. If you're going to live in the Houston area for an extended period (years), why not join a club were you can shoot the way you want/need to. csw
  10. I had the same residue with CFE Pistol (although I was loading 9mm). Looks like un-burnt powder to me. Wondering if it may be due to the cleaning agent. However, as others have noted, slower burning more like AC, and may burn better in magnum loads.
  11. snscasting.com they have cast and coated. the coated are about the same price as BBI. always good to have variety! +1 for xtreme for plated.
  12. I just picked up an 8# jug at my LGS. Out the door for $21.25/lbs. That includes tax. He had at least 3 more 8#ers in stock when I left. This is the second location I've found CFE Pistol in my area. The other had 4 or 5 1# cans that sold out in a day or two. Haven't loaded it yet, so can't report on the details except to say it looks like is will meter very well.
  13. Thanks for the encouragement, Golden Bear. That's a good list. I'll be looking closely at the schedules and will definitely consider joining in on the fun. It is true, doing something is the best teacher.
  14. Interested, yes. Ready for competitive shooting, not just yet. Only been shooting handguns on a regular basis for a year+. Only have a defensive shotgun and no AR. I'm a new member at PSC and plan to watch a few matches before I decide.
