Looks for Range

Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. Will shooting a rimfire (22) help with training on target transitions? The cost of ammo would let me practice almost five times as much. I realize that I would still need to shoot my production gun each week. Any thoughts?
  2. I want to start shooting single stack. I have everything except magazine holders, how may do I need and should they be double or single. Thanks in advance for the help.
  3. Primarily to improve pistol skills for 3 gun, and to have fun shooting.
  4. I have shot 3 gun for several years, so not new to competition, but want to start shooting more pistol. Question is which class. I have a limited minor, production and one that would be single stack. The limited minor is the 3 gun pistol, I was thinking that would be best for a while. What do you people think would be best.
  5. Rose Action Sports is the way to go. I had ported my shotgun over two years ago similar to Eagle4. This week I had Steve Rose port it to his new profile, much better! it is like I had not ported it before.
  6. I have been able to pay for match, but do not understand how to pay for shirt.
  7. I want a new holster to shoot IDPA with. Kydex or leather and one that would also work for CCDW, any suggestions as to which is best?
  8. Steve Rose at Rose Action Sports does a great job on Versamax.
  9. I have been using the MAG Technical receivers for two years now with no issues.
  10. As a competitor, not an RO, I like PractiScore as I can see how everyone else is doing as soon as they shoot. I take a picture of my score as soon as I accept the score and have my copy to look over later.
  11. Rose Action Sports does great work on shotguns. He has been shooting a M2 and is shooting a Beretta 1301c for a match this weekend. I have had a Versamax for 3 years with zero issues. Several good choices today, my suggestion is to go to local matches and shoot several different guns to see which one you like the feel of best.
  12. At the recent Pro-Am match, Greg Jordan ran a full choke on one stage. I had a modified as tightest and had some issues. 6" square steel at 29 yards is a tough target.
  13. Had no issues until I used alcohol to kill barrel cleaning chemicals like bolt shooters do. After lubing bolt well with 5W-20 mobile 1 and locking lugs with slide guide, no issues. Moral of story, No more alcohol in AR rifles, only in shooter.
  14. Cleaned rifle and left bolt carrier group out of gun for a week. No issues with lockup. All dimensions checked out. Put BCG back into rifle, locked up in two days. Found the bolt is locking up in the barrel extension. Lubed the bolt locking lugs with Slide Glide, no more issues. Just not enough lube in the correct spots. Thanks everyone for the suggestions.
