Looks for Range

Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. Bummer. I guess I'll have to go back to the CZ shop across from the train station for a souvenir. Thanks.
  2. Hello, Anybody know if there is a Chameleon Vest retailer in Prague? I'm heading there for the weekend. A new shotshell vest would be a great souvenir. Thanks, from a train north of Dresden!
  3. I picked up a 6.5 CM RAP in an MDT LSS chassis with a PRS stock this past Friday. It has a 4-16x50 Viper in Warne rings on the factory base. A couple of observations. The MDT fixed stock adapter to enable using the PRS makes the LoP rather long and puts the PRS adjustable comb too far back for my tastes. Magpul mags do not work! Looks to be sub-moa using factory 140gr. ELD ammo and a Thunder Beast can, but I've only fired about a dozen rounds through it. I'm not setup to load 6.5 yet. I'm waiting for an MDT rail piece to arrive so I can use my Elite Iron Revolution bi-pod on it. The lack of the RPR's full length top rail allows mounting the scope lower.
  4. I'm fighting the exact same issue in a new 75 Accu Shadow Lite. I've swapped slide stops with another gun. Symptoms follow the Shadow's slide stop. Where did you get your replacement slide stop?
  5. We've had an Omega in the battery for 4-5 years now. It's been my teenage son's primary handgun. He will be shooting it in a PGPFT class this Friday. I have a love/hate relationship with it. I love the ergonomics and pointability! I hate the recurve trigger along with all its take-up, and the limited after market support when compared to the classic 75 series. I have not looked too hard, but I also wish there was a wider safety available for it. It seems like it would be easy to dump the cost of the gun into mods, and still have an Omega. Now that I have a 75 Accu Shadow Lite, I'm considering to liquidating the Omega when he goes off to college. Our Omega did have to go back to CZ-USA for a warranty repair. From the first mag out of the box, the trigger wouldn't reset. Apparently a known issue with some mags knocking a spring loose. With the spring properly staked down, it's been 100% reliable ever since. The factory plastic grips cracked in short order and it's been wearing CZ rubber grips since. We replaced the sights with 1mm FO front and CZ75 Tactical fixed rear.
  6. Last night I found a bucket of cleaned .223 brass that's been AWOL for over a year.
  7. The Beartooth Comb Raising kit is another option. It is more variable and less permanent than the Kickeez. http://www.beartooth-products.com/collections/comb-raising-kit I've been using them on kids guns for years to get young eyes up and behind scopes properly. Just use some blue painters tape to hold the pad(s) in place while you roll the neoprene sleeve back over the stock.
  8. This what I used on my first XDm 5.25 front sight. I also made a fat shim of Trex decking to keep the slide from rotating in the pusher frame, and I put brass shim stock between the pusher and the frame to take up the heinous amount of slop. I used a ratchet on the first one. I'll either use a torque wrench or a breaker bar on the next one. I have another to do and may try to make a YouTube video of it.

  10. I've gotta hand it to Tom. He really takes care of his customers! He called me last night after hours and talked me through disassembling the trigger group and fixing the part that needed fixing. Now I can no longer recreate the problem on demand. This gun has now earned a slot in the safe.
  11. Thanks Tom! I'll be in my padded cell Monday without access to guns. Sunday, my wife is out on the Parade of Homes & I'll have a few hours to test & examine. I forgot to note that this problem also occurred on the last shot a number of times; empty gun, bolt locked (and stuck) open. Tripping the shell release would allow the bolt release to function, or close the bolt. I'll be hand cycling dummy rounds this morning, before disassembling anything.
  12. What are the symptoms of stalling an M3000? Took mine out for an inaugural run today and had several stoppages. Typical stoppage was a bolt locked open with a round half or more onto the lifter. Tripping the shell release would release the shell onto the lifter and allow the bolt release to function. Sometimes, tripping the shell release would release the shell all the way onto the lifter AND release the bolt forward, chambering the stuck round. Ammo was mostly econo Federal 3 DE, 1 1/8 0z, 1200 fps Dove & Small Game from Wal-Mart, and Winchester 1 oz, reduced recoil,1200 fps. Law Enforcement slugs. This also happened at the bench with a Brenneke KO slug in the chamber and a Winchester 1 oz. 1600 fps hunting slug stuck on the lifter. At the bench, I was trying to get some semblance of a slug group. Off hand, at the plate rack, I was either running the gun as fast as possible or trying Pat Kelly's sweep drill. Am I holding onto this thing too tight, or is this an equipment or ammo issue? Thanks!
  13. Thanks for compiling this list. It's the best I've seen so far.My P3K is on it's way home, but I doubt it will make it to my local Post Office today. I believe the P3K package now also includes the Kick-Eez pad. I asked it be added to mine, and I added the TTI lifter and welded up shell release (Benelli Button). You have at least two options for the mag tube shroud; carbon fiber or helix (spiral fluted?) aluminum. Aluminum is ~$50 cheaper and same weight as carbon fiber. When did you send yours in? I'm trying to gauge how long I should wait before calling. I shipped my M3000 May 8. It was delivered to MOA May 12. I’m anticipating it arriving at my Post Office today, Aug. 31. This was possibly the worst time of year to send in a gun; summer shooting season was really ramping up and production was already backlogged for a high demand product. Add to that, matches the crew wanted to shoot and MGM Junior Camp! Then add on wrist surgery and a back injury, and I suspect some delays by outside suppliers. I also get the impression the Cerakote shop added three weeks or more delay and that a search for a new Cerakote shop is underway. I’m speculating that the P3K design specs weren’t completely finalized when I shipped my gun. I’m guessing they were still tweaking the specs to come up with the best bang for our bucks within a specific price point. I picked the primordial P3K package and added on the trigger work from the Competition package as well as the TTI lifter and welded shell release, so my gun should be a hybrid of sorts. All this would have added time to production as well. I recommend patience. An e-mail requesting a status update is probably fine, but keep in mind, anything pulling people away from the bench slows down production for everybody.
