Looks for Range

Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. Thanks for the reply. I'll look into that. Zero malfunctions in about 150 rounds of my reloads so far.
  2. I was able to shoot my 4.6" M&P 10mm for the first time last week. Fed factory Magtech 180 fine (just one magazine) and my handloads no problem. Did have pretty significant firing pin drag as shown (on all loads), but I understand that's not a real concern? Velocities reached with Longshot: 200gr Blue at 1.275", 8.0gr: 1152 +/- 4 fps 180gr Zero at 1.255", 8.6gr: 1219 +/- 13 fps 180gr HST at 1.264", 8.9gr: 1235 +/- 22 fps Let me know if you have any questions. Fits perfectly in a M&P45 2.0 holster.
  3. To each their own, and their own goals. I've shot a Glock 20 with not completely weak loads (Magtech 180gr going 1185 fps), and didn't think the recoil was bad at all. Not at all mouse-fart loads like 147's making 128 pf in my Tanfo, but in fact it was kinda underwhelming, was expecting more in general. But I also wasn't pushing for short splits.
  4. I love this project. I'm a very happy owner of a Stock III in 9mm, and recently bought a progressive loading setup for 9mm and 10mm, but waffling on what 10mm pistol to get. I'm wanting something for hiking and bears, so 53 oz isn't in the cards for now (until I can justify another), but that's a sweet gun.
  5. I built solid wood cabinet following this design for my primers: https://www.popularwoodworking.com/projects/aw-extra-112113-flammables-cabinet/ For powder storage I added some wood to a cabinet from craigslist to meet NFPA 1" nominal wall thickness, plus some insulation board. Both doors are just spring hinged, no latch. Then I painted with an intumescent paint the article above suggested.
  6. Cool. Here is what the bottom looks like if that helps.
  7. Ha yeah yours too. Click the link and buy stuff to support BEnos I guess? I got model #578-683-411, but since I'm using the Boss hanger (and throwing away the paddle), any of the 57x (for long slide, standard width) would work.
  8. My Safariland GLS (long slide version) is open bottom and works great with my Stock 3. Bonus is that it has retention that you barely notice while drawing and it sells on Amazon for $35. Really the only downside was not having a straightforward way to mount to my Boss hanger, but that worked out fine using the Safariland plate.
  9. The link doesn't work well on mobile, but anything labeled Optima HP works with the 1301. My Comp came with an IC, which so far I've been happy with.
  10. I'm hoping (likely in vain) that they'll announce the VP9L at Shot Show...
  11. And also, a carbine buffer isn't a good idea in a rifle length receiver extension. See here:
  12. While a low mass, adjustable gb setup can work, I agree that if you're not in competition it's likely not worth the additional cost. That said, I'm planning a Grendel upper build for plinking and maybe hunting, and might just use my low mass carrier with a new bolt. Then of course I would get an adjustable gb, which would be the only added cost. Since I'm thinking a budget setup, a Wojtek agb is almost the same price as fixed. The carbine spring in a rifle length receiver extension is a no go. Just spend $15 and get a rifle length spring.
  13. My belt is ELS and it's great for placing and swapping equipment. I do wish I had a ratchet system with it as some guys at my local matches do, but I've never used one myself. I'm a big fan of the Safariland caddy and Ghost mag pouches (with my buddy's 3D printed adapter design). As far as attaching the hoster, I use a Boss Plus hanger and just an ELS fork which has been great.
  14. They're back in stock at BSPS now for $850, FYI. I'm trying to resist and save up, but my P30 just isn't great for competition.
  15. I like the look and the price. Any idea if these only fit the Match, or would fit on a Stock 2 or 3 as well?
