Sees Sights (6/11)

  1. It's not widely discussed but the Gray Guns trigger kit comes with 2 pairs of sear springs, competition and a heavier one. I don't recall if they ship 2 pairs for the trigger return spring. Springer sells a lighter powered ISMI trigger return spring, and depending on how your trigger feels with the GG drop in competition set you can tune it heavier with different trigger return spring. The pretravel and the distance it spends disconnecting from the sear will remain stock with the GG kit but it is safe as Bruce Gray intended. You can optimize the trigger to its full potential but requires sending it to The Sig Armorer for his competition trigger job where he trims the firing pin hook, adds material to the trigger return bar, polishes, and changes the pivot geometry of the trigger shoe. The result feels as good as SA triggers in Tanfos and Shadows and is about 3.5 lbs - 4.0 lbs on a Lyman but under the timer it feels sub 3.0 lbs.
  2. Okay thanks. I was unsure about the 3 sets on the right but you all confirmed it’s part of the Springer kit.
  3. Hey everyone, I put up a Springer Legion R3Max adapter plate in the classifieds and I forgot with of these screws go with the plate? Going from left to right, I know set 1 is Springer for sure but I'm unsure about #2, #3 and #4. I looked inside the optic box and only see foam cut out relief for 1 set but that set is the larger screw to mount the optic to the included picatinny rail mount. Thanks for your help.
  4. I don’t recall seeing OEM+ springs for the sear but I have for the trigger return spring. The two ISMI from Springer Precision, +10% and -20% are both lighter than OEM. Galloway Precision has OEM+ but I don’t have any experience with their quality. If you need custom, check out Lee Spring.
  5. The dot on the newer 6moa DPP looks even better than a R3Max and supposedly more durable than prior gen. If I started over again for the price and direct mount I would get the DPP.

    AXG Grip?

Lengths are the same but the AXG has less girth

    AXG Grip?

my Lok was a tight fit but the holes lined up, thankfully

    AXG Grip?

Here's what a Legion upper looks like with AXG in titanium cerakote... stock and Lok brass bits... just got them in to mess around with
  9. Happy to report it has less side to side slop and it's ~0.375" wide.

    AXG Grip?

Interesting. I ran the accelerator drill with stock GR and plug, tungsten GR and stock plug, and tungsten GR and plug... I settled on the last one. I'm going to give it another go with the tungsten GR and stock plug.

    AXG Grip?

I've met a couple of guys running the AXG grip with Lok brass panels and back strap over the TXG. One said he's going back to the TXG grip because it feels softer and ther other guy said he loved it more than TXG. Both agreed the Lok palm swells and traction is amazing. As for the weight balance I'm unsure, I need to shoot one before forming an opinion but the hand feel no doubt is as good as a Tanfo and Shadow 2 with the same Lok brass grips. I plinked with a friend's Stock 2 with the Lok brass panels with my ammo and the dot (annoyingly) jumps less than my Legion with tungsten GR and SSI plug. Come on Sig, give us a AXG in steel and make another pile of profits.
  12. on the timer during my first match I didn't notice the shorter slightly heavier pull but I did notice how consistent and connected my trigger finger felt. I shot more alphas. I measured the travel distance between the wall after take up and break... ~0.108"
  13. He has them for sale and with my medium sized glove hands the index finger is just right. Another benefit Robert didn't mention is the geometry change, it has a shorter pull. I like it a lot and shot a match with it yesterday.
  14. Has anyone tried this yet? Robert has two variants for his curved trigger, competition and carry. The comp only works with his comp level action job and the carry works in all P320. One of the nice features on the comp level action job (using the factory flat trigger) is a non adjustable over travel stop. On the TSA curved trigger it is built into the shape.
  15. It has different milling and the lightening cuts are set further back. I messaged Issac Lockwood about it and he said he settled on this after prototyping 2 different slides, 1 being full weight, pic below is his gun. Here's what the GGI director of gunsmithing shared with me. DLC black is applied to both slide and barrel. The price on the whole package is $1100. This includes a slide that has been bored open to accept a X5 barrel, a barrel matched to the slide, guide rod and spring, slide internals, Choice of optic cut, and choice of finish DLC or single color cerakote. The slide will be ready to run once received, just need to mount the optic and put on a lower. This slide is optimized for use in Carry optics as the mass balance has been perfected for an extremely flat shooting platform.
