    I've never polished slide rails to make them run smoother, although I have used diamond lapping compound to fit oversized slides function. Forget the stuff in the gun catalog, it's way too course, I used this kit off Amazon. It takes forever, but you won't have to worry about overdoing it.

    I suggest sand paper on something flat like a pane of glass. Start with 1000 grit and progress to 2000-2500

    The OD of the bushing (17.3mm) is larger than the OD of the cone on the comp (16.5mm).

    You should not be assembling the Czechmate with the guide rod resting on the lower lug like you do with your other CZs, there's a hole in the guide rod, compress the spring and put an "L" shaped piece of paperclip in the hole to keep it compressed, with the slide on the gun, pull the slide to the rear and remove the clip.

    You bring up a really good point. We DQ shooters for holstering a SAO pistol with the safety off, so do we DQ someone shooting a striker fired pistol on which the factory safety features no longer function as designed due to the aftermarket fire control parts they installed? I'm not intimately familiar with the safety features on striker fired guns, do they still work with a 2# aftermarket trigger kit?

    The easiest thing you could do is get a 1/2x28 threaded TS barrel (so you wouldn't have to worry about the comp interfering with the frame and Loctite an SJC 11 port Glock comp on it. I'm not positive a barrel that long would fit in the slide without modification though.

    Yes I've done it. It works okay, but 9mm is a better recoil impulse and more mag capacity.

    The replacement guide rods are not the right shape/diameter to index the comp. I hate to be the Debbie Downer s#!tting on all your ideas, but I've been down almost every road imaginable when in comes to CZ Open. I've spent a decade and plies of money messing around with Open guns to end up with a primary and backup which are very similar to Czechmates. If you love CZs and want to shoot Open I beg you to buy a Czechmate and enjoy yourself! If your motivation is to save money, trust me, you won't. I've had custom parts manufactured, I've bought and sold dozens of guns, I've done slow motion comp testing with almost every powder imaginable, all to finally admit none of it really matters that much!

    Short answer to your barrel question is yes, a TS barrel is compatible with an S2 slide, but 0.4" is not a lot of barrel to get a tight thread on these guns (yes, I know bull barrel 2011 Open guns only have 0.4" of thread, but they don't have to be taken off to disassemble), the Tanfoglio small frame Open guns have 0.9" of barrel past the slide. I've done similar things to what you're talking about, but not without modification of the slide, plus the Czechmate guide rod you're talking about is not available for sale anywhere (I had to make my own).

    The internet is a crazy place The first I'd heard of this was on Facebook within the past few months, I believe it was a comment by Stuart @eerw I have shot a small amount of AA7, so I can't comment on long term barrel wear, but I will contradict the statement above that it's the same powder as Shooter's World Major Pistol. The two powders have a similar burn rate (SWMP is sightly slower), but you don't get the same cornmeal residue from SWMP.
