Looks for Match

Looks for Match (2/11)

  1. Between solo 1000 and AA7, solo 1000 will feel softer with the heavier bullet. I was loading them to 1.18". I'm going to try them out the next couple months in matches and see how they feel.
  2. I do this as well. I use K40 mags for production and 10mm mags for limited.
  3. I've changed platforms every 6-8 months since getting into USPSA in early 2012. It usually takes a couple of months to get used to the new gun.
  4. I've shot both moly and uncoated lead bullets through a G34 and G22 and they work fine. I've tried a couple aftermarket barrels and actually prefer the looser chamber of the stock barrel. Just make sure you clean the barrel on a regular basis.
  5. I really like using the Shot Coach app for this purpose. You can break down videos of other shooters that have shot the same stage as you and see what they are doing differently. For example, you can compare how quickly you move out of one position into the next position, compare transitions between targets, etc. You can play back in slow motion to learn footwork and positioning. Then take a few things you've discovered to work on in dry fire and live fire.
  6. I had that happen to me last month when I forgot to bring my shooting belt. I borrowed a paddle holster and on the first stage on the beep I drew the gun with the holster still attached.
  7. I picked up some X-treme 220gn plated RNFP's a couple weeks ago and finally got to experiment with them today. I used Accurate Solo 1000 and Accurate #7 powders to get a feel for the difference between a faster and slower powder with these heavy bullets. It was my first time loading with AA#7 so I underestimated what I needed to make major PF, but I did find a really nice soft minor load with it. I tested these at 1.18" out of a Tanfoglio Stock 2 with a 9lb recoil spring. Temp was 81 degrees. These loads cycled well and the sights barely lifted. 8. I do elbows bent with my torso leaning forward. How about when doing strong hand / weak hand? Would you lock your elbow or still keep a bend?
  9. My WST load for 40 minor with 200's was 2.8gns at 1.13. Made 130 PF out of a glock 22.
  10. Great summary on compensators, Atlas! I'm just starting to go to open and there is so much to figure out.
  11. A few suggestions: -improve your grip strength to better handle recoil -adjust your recoil spring weight (usually lighter) so the gun doesn't dip too much -dryfire with use of a metronome to get used to pulling the trigger faster and to train your eyes
  12. Excellent. Thanks for the info LoganbillJ. I'm going to try it out.
