Looks for Range

Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. Thank you for reviving the thread. What a great read.
  2. When my daughter was ten she started shooting a 9mm 1911. She loved it. She doesn't really shoot .22 any more. I don't have an open gun so she shoots irons and I just reload more.
  3. Do I need to worry if range brass was fired in a Glock before I reload for my STI .40? I bought some processed brass from Shooters Connection when I started reloading this caliber but I have a whole bucket of range collected .40.
  4. Same with an IPad with Safari. Tried it with a fresh log in also.
  5. I went through the same kind of build-up and got to 3.6 grains with a 147 fmj before my Glock 17 would cycle. I have a stock recoil spring but the extra weight of a Deltapoint on the slide. I do not know if that changes things much.
  6. My daughter is 11. When she was 10 she moved up to 9mm. She did not like the Glock at all. I got a 9mm 1911 and she loves it. Less recoil and you could use thinner grips if you need to.
  7. Thanks for the help. I am making some up tonight to try out this weekend.
  8. I have several boxes of 185 grain moly coated bullets from Precision Bullets out of Kemp, Tx. My Hodgdon book does not have any info for 185. Can I start out with the 180 lead data? I currently have some Titegroup and WST. I am fine getting another powder but i want to make up something to shoot this weekend. I am looking to make a light recoiling practice load for an STI. Thanks.
  9. My daughter just turned 11. She used to shot the p-22. About a year ago, she tried a Glock 17. Didn't like it at all. Frame is big. She didn't like the recoil. I bought a single stack Rock Island 9mm for myself. She shot this around Christmas and loved it. Good grip and the heavier gun cuts down on felt recoil. I think the single action trigger helps as well. Now that is her gun. The real problem is that now we are digging out of the same bucket of bullets and 9mm is a lot more exspensive than .22. I find that I have to reload a lot more of late. I guess that is ok...
