Finally read the FAQs

Finally read the FAQs (3/11)

  1. I use Howard Leight Honeywell Electronic Shooting Earmuffs. I can still hear people talking and buzzer but 30nrr noise block while shooting. Works better for me I have been shooting open for years and best I have tried. In enclosed areas I use ear plugs and muffs. https://www.howardleightshootingsports.com/collections/electronic-earmuffs/products/impact-pro-sound-amplification-electronic-shooting-earmuff-black-grey
  2. I can empathizes with everyone, July 12 had my 4th back surgery which was a complete reconstruction 7 levels. Walking is best and pt, but there are just some things you can not do any more. My plans when I am able to get back to it is to shoot carry optics so I do not have to pick brass like I did with my open gun. My biggest obstacle is My Doc says no more lifting over 10 to 15 pounds, not sure how I am going to work around that but I will find a way if I have to hire someone to carry everything for me. Make sure you have some kind of cart to carry your bags. Better yet someone to carry your bag, lol. A chair with a straight back to sit and take the load off some will help. Limit your bend or lifting, like not picking up steel, just do the pasting, but let your squad know you have limitations so they know. Things I have learned over the years. My first surgery was 1995, 2nd 2005 next this past January then July. I started shooting in 2000 and have been shooting ever since. Missed some years but always get back to it when I'm able.
  3. Something is to tight, Hood, bushing or slide, free it up a little and should still be OK.
  4. OLD guy long time shooter. I feel like most people start out trying to shoot beyond their limits at the time. A new shooter is rarely going to keep up with people that have been shooting for a while. Take the stage at your speed, time does not matter you are not going to win the Lamborghini, LOL. Watch other shooters and see how they proceed but do not let the excitement make you step out of your zone. Sometimes I do better by walking the stage out then stepping back and just going over and over and over in my mind as I look at the stage.slow and steady as the old saying goes will help keep you where you have planned your stage. I take supplements for mental help also.
  5. Do you like it better. I was thinking sig pro or c-more, alpha 3 will not fit according to FTP.
  6. It says DPP 2.5, not sure what you are saying.
  7. I researched but could not find the answer. I have a shadow 2 with CGW slide milled and DPP 2.5 mounted to the slide. Is there any other red dot with larger dot size that will mount to the DPP foot print. Maybe a plate that will mount on slide then except a different Optic. My old eyes just need a bigger dot.
  8. Will the Alfa 3 mount to a slide milled for DPP. No plate; its mounted to the slide. DPP dot is just to small for my old eyes.
  9. Just curious, what will be new guns to use in carry optics, now that weight has changed.
  10. After reading does it seem possible to use in carry optics, weight looks to be to heavy and the slide is already scalloped. but if it could picks my interest.
  11. Never had issues with Caspian, I have STI but not Caspian, I have one open gun with 80 to 100 thousand rounds on the slide. that is still tight. 2 barrels and 5 compensators. Never had an issue with any I have owned.
  12. Agreed it sucks now, I have tried to watch but the breaks suck the car adjustments have made it boring as hell because no one can pass. Have not watched in years decided to watch, nothing else worth watching on TV, no more it sucks.
  13. 115 bullets sharper bite to your hand but less nuzzle flip, Heavy bullets are softer but feel sluggish with a little more muzzle flip. I could feel the slide movement it was so slow. But to shoot light bullets the barrel needs the proper rifling in the barrel to stabilize the bullets. Schumann barrels did build the barrels rifling for what weight you were going to shoot, Most of my experience is with open guns.
