I know what you mean about the ideal length falling in between the rib stanchions. Ideally, I want to convert my 28" barrel to 24", but because of the stanchion spacing it will be a 23" barrel, or a 20" barrel, which will be fine. I guess if it just had to be 24", I could make some sort of filler block & JB weld it in place purely for cosmetic reasons and to keep the unsupported rib section from getting bent. I will say one thing, although that 28" barrel is a little bit unweildy working in and around autos, it points like a dream, making hits very easy ; much better than my 20" barreled gun. I'm on the fence as wether to even touch it. Maybe I'll just use the 20" gun on those stages where an auto is involved. This dilemma gives me something to ponder....
