  1. Same load as I use for USPSA. 147gr & 3.4 gn of sport pistol powder. 133 pf & 5.5" taccom barrel. I have a Scheel buffer system. I love it,,, B class for life,,, as long as I hold the gun tight I'm good for either sport,,,
  2. Another pic of the bullet feeder and powder check dies,,,
  3. I managed to get the FA bullet feeder setup and running with a Lyman/Mark7 powder check die. It's a tight fit and only have made about 600 rounds with it so far, but I am happy with it. I had to change the heights of the case feeder and bullet feeder due to door overhead clearance, but I have seen no downside to those changes.
  4. I know I'm beating a dead horse (but it's fun!) but the CO and LO divisions are basically combined now, to an extent. Any CO gun fits into LO. Don't shoot the jockey,,, just sayin',,, I have both kinds of guns and I shoot PCC, so there's that gay aspect,,,
  5. Thanks, I looked at the rules, but missed it looking for the forest,,,, LOL,,, I was all over that section too,,,
  6. I did a search and couldn't find in the rules and this forum where at what distance is the velocity measured for chrono from the instrument being used to measure velocity? Is it at the gun muzzle or 1 foot or 10 foot or what? Been thru chrono before and passed but not sure what the real answer is? Any help? I use a lab radar unit and always measure at the muzzle, but is that correct for chrono at matches?
  7. I cut my case feeder stand down some to fit in my garage under the door when opened. I just ordered the bullet feeder and waiting for it to arrive to see what mods or new stand I will have to make. Doesnt seem like it will be too much problem. I believe if correct the X10 is a 10 station press and the XL750 is a six station press. Otherwise, I think its down to what you make out of the press you buy. I moved from a Lee Loadmaster to the X10. Its faster easier and my COL on the finished rounds dropped a couple of thousandths, but otherwise the bullets go bang,,
  8. Its still 3 months away. A group of us from Houston signed up to go. I talked to the match director and he has a good handle on things. It should be a fun match.
  9. Looks like it will shoot to me. What did you use to cut the barrel feet for the slide stop pin? Never used a bobbed hammer myself, although it looks neat. Time to build another one now so you have a spare!
  10. I agree with you. Make them totally separate or make it one big division. Only reason I'm in LO is I had an open gun spare to re-barrel and install a slide mounted optic on.
  11. I think the best way to separate CO and LO is to make LO a single-action only gun division. The minor/major thing is a what-ever to me. I never shot A fudgecicle nobody but a few crayon chewers and winder likkers want even when I had the chance to. If one has a SA/DA gun shot in single action that would fly. Right now it seems to me lots of the popularity of LO is do to sandbaggers running their CO gun in LO division to get out of their higher rankings in CO. There's also a bunch of CO people just desiring another classification and shooting CO guns in LO. There must be a way to differentiate the guns or people will slowly go back to the original gun or stay with the new division and we will end up stuck with two divisions with half as many people in them,,,
  12. XRAY is correct. The weight of the bolt and buffer system is what keeps the bolt closed long enough for the bullet and most of the gas and unburnt powder to go out the front of the gun in a non-delayed or gas operated gun. Although a gas gun will tend to put some gas back into the bolt area. A roller delayed system or a system like a JP5 keep the bolt mechanically closed for a period of time passed on the way the system is set up and the load used. To get a system to run super clean is very much a balancing act, but very rewarding in less felt recoil and having a gun that runs clean and for a long time between cleanings. A weighted buffer system will always be dirtier unless one goes for a heavy weighted buffer and bolt and suffers the recoil from said system.
  13. Thanks for the info and hard work,,, just getting back into steel challenge and this is good info for me,,,
  14. It would seem that reading the rule book would be at least what someone would want to do if they participate in a sport,,, I came to steel challenge from USPSA to work on my target transitions and decided to read the rule book to see what I could do. I was a RO for USPSA at that time and now a RO for steel challenge also. There is enough of a difference in the rules to make it worthwhile for me. It was just a natural progression for me,,,
  15. Has the downfall of USPSA been because of the internet and the chase of the HOA, or am I off base?
