Looks for Range

Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. Where is the closest nice and safe hotel to stay in for this match? Thinking about trying to make this match if spots are still available. Not many opportunities for me shoot a USPSA match with this many revolver shooters.
  2. I checked out the product since you were inquiring about it. The picture of the holder with the 45 ACP looks short for 38 Special and I didn’t see where there are options on length. I’d be interested in knowing whether they would secure the longer loaded moon clips.
  3. The Revolver came from a reputable revolver smith. I absolutely do not want this to come across as a slight against them. Everything works fine except for the random failure to fire. I broke into the guts and couldn’t find anything out of place or misaligned. I removed the firing pin and spring to ensure there wasn’t something going on there; ran a q-tip up in the hole checking for burrs; everything checked out okay. If I tear it apart again, will probably put the factory firing pin back in it just see if it eliminates the issue. I was not aware of the possible trigger stop issue so I will explore that possibility. Thanks for for the tips.
  4. Interesting that I stumbled upon this thread. I have two 929’s; one I bought already tricked out; the other I bought new and had tricked out. The one I bought tricked-out has never missed a lick. The other I never shot before sending off. It has a custom trigger, hammer, and firing pin. The main spring is on the heavy side and will set off any factory ammo. The crappy thing is it will occasionally not have a solid hit on the primer, i.e. can hardly see a mark on the primer, and I cannot figure out why tf this is happening. Timing is good; cylinder stop isn’t too tight. Disassembled everything and cannot see a thing wrong. It appears the hammer either isn’t delivering energy to the firing pin or the firing pin isn’t reaching the primer. I realize it doesn’t make any sense, but figured I would ask if someone else experienced anything like this. Short of putting all of the factory parts back in the frame, I don’t what else to do to get it 100% reliable.
  5. I run 2.6 grs of Titegroup with a 160 grn Bayou Bullet; shoots very accurately out of my 929.
  6. Thank you for your insight on the matter.
  7. Duly noted. I take it you run this sight? Any opinion on the white outline versus plain blade?
  8. Anybody try the Bowen Rough Country rear sight on the 929? If so what height do you need for the 929? Definitely going to try the Dawson front sight; one should be here this week. I ordered a 0.245”. What I’m shooting now is a little high with the rear sight bottomed out with a 0.230”.
  9. Both revolvers are in PA at Pinnacle now so I’m committed. So far our e-mail correspondence has been good and even got him on the phone on a first attempt. Mark led me to believe the turnaround on his work won’t be long. We’ll see what happens. Hell, nobody shoots Revolver! He can’t be that busy right??
  10. I have a 929 Mark customized; bought it from member; it is top shelf work. I want to do another 929, but I want do it with TK to do the action job. I want Mark to recrown my barrel and ball mill the underlug like he did on the 929 I’ve been using. TK isn’t set-up to do the barrel work. About a year ago I wanted Mark to do a duplicate 929 like the one I had, but I never could reach him so I just dropped the idea. Now I’m looking at going to IRC and I’d like to have a pair to go with me. I am optimistic my venture will work out.
  11. Well, that was the same experience I had as well. That said, I just got off the phone with Mark so he did return my call this time. He did indicate he had experienced a heart attack about a year ago and was indisposed for some time.
  12. Any wheelgunners out there know Mark with Pinnacle? I have been trying to reach him and cannot get him on the phone or get a return call from him. Any information would be appreciated.
  13. Glad somebody posted something on this product; I've been wanting to give one a try. I need another belt for my open gun set-up.
