Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. In the event anybody needs it, I noticed Winchester brand 270wsm brass for sale at Cabelas and Bass Pro. Its been three years since I have seen it in stock anywhere. Norma and Nosler are usually available but holy cow those things are at least $2 per piece of brass. The Winchester is $37 or $38 for a bag of 50. Maybe this helps somebody stock up.
  2. There were some 9s that didnt shoot as well as others. Ive always thought the vast majority but not all shooters cant outshoot the gun, myself included. LEO trade ins on these are usually a fair deal in my opinion. Not exactly a smoking deal but I like trade ins in general because theyre fairly predictable. Trade ins llook rough, sights a little dim, but theyre relatively low round counts. An agency that does a quarterly qualification probably shoots between 75 on up to 150 rounds tops. 300 to 600 rounds a year by maybe a 6 year duty issue. My own opinion is 1800- 3600 rounds on a pistol is low count compared to to guys who put that on a gun in a year.
  3. Rainbow sprinkles are delicious. Salt and pepper are my favorite spices. I recommend a high quality coarse sea salt that you can grind to your own liking. There are some excellent Mediterranean varieties I encourage you to explore. Black pepper corns ground to your liking are also delicious. Try the costco brand for a good value
  4. I don't understand how gunshows still exist. I gave up on them 15 years ago. Anything there worth purchasing can be found cheaper on the internet. If you want to go to buy old gas mask filters or tshirts or questionable reloads sold by the bag full then its the place to be. Short of that alot of it is just items that somebody bought at a good price and wants to flip at a not so good price. I guess if you live in a really rural area or you're not concerned with price they're ok. But, they still exist. And people still buy and sell there and the shows pop up everywhere so business must be doing alright.
  5. If the money is there or you're comfortable doing renovations yourself a tile floor is almost as good as a concrete slab. Tile floors are common in AZ because they're cooler and everything is built on a concrete slab. I spill small amounts of powder and spent primers. Its way easier for me to sweep and I know im not vacuuming floors. I helped a friend lay tile for his gun room and its a nice set up for reloading, especially in the summer.
  6. They've been "coming soon" for several years now. I'm still skeptical that they will ever show up. It seems like its been just around the corner for a really long time now.
  7. Old hooded sweatshirts work decent. One with a zip up front works the best. Ive been startled like no other before when walking by the reliading room in the dark and it looks like a guy wearing a hoody standing still in the corner.
  8. I dont have anything constructive to add, but getting that many rounds on two mags- that is a feet right there. Thats impressive. That is gettin your moneys worth out of your gear.
  9. If you unscrew the end of the guide rod, what kind of springs can you use? If you change the spring do you put the nut back on and make it captured again? Replied in messenger already, but yes unscrew it put a your choice of spring weight in and put it back together to make a captured assembly again. I used the flat wire springs, I think they were Iso springs from SSS, (if not it was from Brownells.) Its worked for me.
  10. Speed Shooters Spec. has parts, not always all of them at the same time but you can collect all you need if you watch the sight for a few months. I like to replace the consumables early and throw the old ones in little bags to have on hand if I needed it to get me by. Recoil springs are one Im a fan of replacing early. And you can unscrew the factory guide rod and put whatever weight you desire in there. Not everybody realizes those come apart.
  11. Don't hesitate to shoot him several emails. Bombard him, politely. He'll get back to you. May take a week but you'll hear back.
  12. Theres obviously alot of combinations, but for me they all included 147 grain projectiles. Ive never had great results loading 115. 124 was better but I think they prefer a heavier bullet.
  13. Theres as many options for kydex as there is leather. I see the comp tac infidel get some use. It can be placed at 2 or 3 locations on most bodies.
  14. Ok. I see it different but I think I can see where youre coming from. I dont think its much different than linking a cutter from Giraud or when people link aftermarket items from vendors like inline fabrication or bearings and spent primer catching bottles or powder in stock from a company or dies from other than Dillon. I welcome new info. If guys didnt link these products I wouldnt own them. I also dont appreciate somebody pumping or hyping their product or their weekly special. I thought it was brought up reasonably. Maybe not.
  15. If its the owner or affiliated person I dont think they did anything wrong. They didnt rave on about how amazing it is or boast of its superiority. It looks to me like the person is letting guys know about another option on the market. Awesome. Thats what youre here for, information. I didnt know it existed before this link. Thanks for letting guys know its out there.
