I have dots on two of my guns. I don't carry them. I've done thousands of dryfires but 1) I can't find the dot 2) the point of impact seems so high over my 1/3 lower cowitness irons that I don't feel like I can trust the dot, but don't see the point of going full cowitness. Any suggestions?

I don't practice one hand enough. I pay for it during job related qualifications which have about 30% one hand shooting. Dry firing one handed is actually a great way to identify issues like anticipating recoil.

Kind of an old post now, but I'll second what others have said about c02 cartridges. They're much more weather-temperature resistant, less hassle. Only issue really is that you may have to shoot about 200 times to empty the cartridge if you're storing your guns or traveling in the air with them.

I use .25 for my gas blowback Glock. Evike.com has plenty of biodegradeable BBs on sale cheap.

The best blowback AEGs/rifles on the market are the Tokyo Marui "Recoil Shock" Next Generations. I don't have a lot of gas blowback pistol experience, but the Glock 17/19 made by Elite Force (or Spartan if you have MIL/LE credentials) are good. Same dimensions as a real Glock, balance is a little different, but close enough to be valuable for cross-training.

Co2 will help you avoid many of the green gas temperature issues. I just bought a Spartan/Elite Force Glock 17. You'll need MIL/LE credentials to buy the version with the Co2 magazine. Supposedly Elite Force is going to be producing civilian Co2 mags for their gun soon. Guns are identical other than licensing and the C02 mag that comes with the Spartan version.

Welcome I was going to mention the Dundee matches. Quite a bit of good USPSA in that part of the state. I miss it (Moved to Seattle).

I've heard nothing...starting to seem more like vapor (although I thought the same about the barrel conversion kits on the MCX and those eventually came around, and Sig made it up to Gen 1 owners). I asked my Sig dealer and he didn't know either. I haven't contacted Sig directly.

Bad, from a self confidence standpoint. People may expect a little more if you have a high-end gun. And if you underperform, you may feel that the investment wasn't worth. I think from a psychological standpoint, it's better to start with a humble gun, and improve/upgrade as your skills also grow.

I've done the same -- I am still embarrassed, but I learned my lesson and have not made that mistake again.

I think the closest I come to it on a regular basis is meditation. I'm an amateur though. Other than that, sometimes in court, when the adrenaline is flowing and you get the right argument out there, that might be close to zen.

I've tried nearly everything out there. For trigger control and sight alignment, the MantisX is my favorite. The app has a ton of useful, accurate data -- which none of the laser systems provide. If you don't want to rack the slide between shots or perform drills, then the next best thing is the SIRT laser pistol. It's expensive and the trigger doesn't quite feel the same as my Glock, but it's close enough to be useful.
