  1. Nest year i WILL take a back up gun, and shoot the ENTIRE match. LOL!
  2. I too have grown to dislike the term. How about we return to "cool idea!"
  3. If she is new to shooting, learn to shoot left handed and be done with it. My granddaughter is 9 years old, and left eye dominant. Her dad and I are starting her off the right way . . . left handed. I had a battle of my own, growing up left handed and loosing the sight in my left eye in 1980. It was a hard row to hoe, learning to shoot all over again right hand (at age 31). Especially the long guns . . . UGH! Good luck!
  4. I like my Honda's. I don't have to run straight pipes and continually rev the engine, at stop lights. Yeah, Honda's idle without shaking the mirrors off!
  5. I have heard Southwest beats up on their competition, not their passengers.
  6. I sent my XDm to Scott Springer, for the trigger work. But then, I had him do some other work at the same time. He tuned it up, re-crowned the barrel and made slide cuts. He does excellent work, IMHO.
  7. Welcome abroad, and thank you for your service!
  8. Oh, I know exactly what you mean! Some of the text messages my daughter receives from me are down right embarrassing.
  9. Welcome to the forums, for south east Ohio!
  10. I have but one grandchild . . . a girl. She more than precious! You and I are very lucky people.
  11. After the first season, of shooting open, I was faster with a dot than I ever was with iron sights. It goes without saying, it took a lot of dry fire (and live fire) to get there.
  12. Exactly how was your dremel attracted to the frame? Love at first sight?
  13. The majority of the time, here in the country, I carry a Taurus 5 shot revolver with 5 extra rounds. If I'm traveling to a murder & maham city, I carry an XDm 40 S&W with 16 rounds.
  14. I never do trigger work during dry fire. I, personally, don't think there is anything to be gained by it. All my trigger practice is in live fire.
  15. Being a vet had to of saved you from a citation, Kevin. Ohio state troopers are not known for warnings. Well, not in my case anyhow
  16. I am "forced to" pick up 40 S&W brass at the local matches. You see, there are 2 ~ 4 shooters that do not reload. So, I get FREE once fired brass.
  17. I have used both bullets, extensively, and like both. I don't believe one can go wrong with either. There are much better powders, for 40 S&W, than Tightgroup. WSF and WST, just to name a couple.
  18. I tumble in walnut hull and inspect each piece. I only throw out those with damage, and do not sort in any way. Bulged brass has never been an issue so, on the the press. Once loaded, I drop it in an extra barrel (chamber check). GTG!
  19. Yeah, what he said. What is that stuff you buy at the hardware . . . . green goop? I use it in my yard equipment, to keep the tires up.
  20. I'm glad that is cleared up! I had no clue either
  21. Welcome to the forum, Chris!
  22. From a helicopter? On yeah, I wanted to try it too . . . until I discovered the cost.
